Hey Kevy. You had my wife and I laughing good with the joke about your wife finding the soap stash...and even more with banging into a door - she said that sounds like a "Chris wound" since I have gotten some injuries from foolish things like that - just this week I dislocated my finger when I jammed it on the wall when tucking the bed sheet in!! P.S. I am not a clutz actually, but have had a few wounds from ridiculous things - good to laugh at ourselves, lol.Cheers, Chris Ryan

As I am trying to enrich my shaving experience, I am looking into bying the Mercur 37c slant and a couple of D.R. Harris shaving creams. You hit it spot on! Many thanks... I know you used the soap, but the exact same scent comes in shaving cream and I prefer that... It looks like a great product.

Cheers. Thanks for the sub. The Semogue 830 is a great brush. It takes a few shaves to break in and I lathered up some cheap creams and soaps to help in that process, but once it's broken in you will love it even more I'm sure. The 34C is brilliant. Slant razors are a good thing to have in the den too. 😀

A very nice shave with your lovely gifts Kevy, and I think you're right, that soap looked like it would like to be bloomed 😌👏 Kent is one of my favourite soaps now, a really nice lather and the most amazing post shave feel. I hope no more inanimate objects leap out at you in the dark 😩

Ha ha! I've heard the Kent soap is very similar to MWF. You're right, I probably should've bloomed it first. Need to open my bleary eyes when I get up for a pee in the dark! Lol! 😂

Ha ha, I'm the same, I never put the lights on at night, I've just been lucky 😂 I hope MrsP gave you lots of sympathy, my other half would have laughed her socks off ! Yeah I heard that too after I got it, and as such I was expecting it to be harder to lather but it was easy, and I expected it to have a great post feel, and it did. The only time I've ever thought "do I really need a post shave routine" is after using that soap.

Excellent haul, and shave.Since you've featured two D.R. Harris products with stellar results, I now find myself going to buy some of their software. I can always count on Kevy to unintentionally coax me in to buying more shave gear. LOL. I'd say Proraso, Thayer's, and Semogue owe commission checks. I do ask, if there's a way to send some of that life sustaining Scottish rain to us here in Texas, it would be greatly appreciated. We are parched, and dry as sand. Thanks for sharing that shave, friend. I'm looking forward to the next tour chapter. Cheers!

Love the scent of the proraso white preshave. That nacet blade seems sharp enough, I just wonder about its smoothness and durability compared to other high end Russian blades. Great shave!

The Proraso White is a fantastic scent with a nice little bit of menthol. First time using a Gillette Nacet for me, I liked it, it performed well 😀

Had serious lathering problem with DR Harris. Foamy lather and cannot load enough soap. Try omega boar 49, synthetic, (the red one that you first had bought) nothing at all. You seemed here to make easily good lather. What do you think I may doing wrong? Cheers.

Hmm, I'm not sue what the problem could be. I always get a great lather from D.R. Harris soaps. Maybe try a different brush? Unless I was able to see the lather and the load you're putting onto the brush, it's difficult to answer. Try a drier brush then add water very gradually to the lather to see if that works any better. Kevy :)

I used D.R.Harris Arlington a couple of days ago, and I did not find it very slick, it also gave me a bit of irritation (same as with the Malborough)... I might give it another go some other time, but for now is out of the rotation. Another case of YMMV I guess....

Yes, everyone has different experiences from all shaving products Roberto. Maybe the pre-shave added to the slickness. It wasn't the slickest soap I've used but it was good enough. Thanks for the comments 👍

No alum in this shave Carl. The reason I edit the video in between passes when I rinse off is I like to splash my face with water for a good minute or two, especially after the clean up pass - and it helps make the final video a bit shorter for viewers - I splash my face with ice cold Scottish water for a good 2 minutes until it's almost freezing my cheeks off! This usually stops any small weepers. If it's a cut I'll reach for the alum block or the styptic pencil. Cheers...Kevy 👍

Kevy please can you answer the following two Questions please. 1. what gave you the best shave between the Gillette / Wilko 10 shave paulhfilms blade and the Gillette Nacet Blade. 2. Can you Do a shave with a Rapira Super Stainless Blade in Either a 34c or DE89 Please. oh in a warm day stick your aftershave in the fridge not freezer for 12 hours before using it and it feels amazing and i thought your cat did that to your nose .. sure you have a cat.

I would say there wasn't much in the difference between the two blades but I would say the Nacet was maybe a tiny bit smoother than the Paul H blade but not by much. I thought I'd already done a shave using that set up for you when you asked before. I'll have a look back through my vids and let you know if I have. If not I'll do it. Great idea about the aftershave in the fridge. I don't have a cat! 😀

I'm sure we must all turn to the right hand side when the winds howling against our faces and we struggle to walk against it in the lovely Scottish...summers! Always had itrritation in that spot but I must admit it is getting better as time goes on. Hopefully in the future shaving this way will help my skin heal there and I can shave normally on that spot. Kevy Shaves Is it okay to use Thayers after an alum block, and before balm? I’m still not exactly sure what Thayers is for.

@@HarveyJohnWillmott You can use either Thayers or any witch hazel before the balm. Alum is for closing up any little nicks. Witch hazel is an astringent and kind of does the same thing but alum does it slightly better in my opinion. However, as I always say, there's no right or wrong way to do it.
