I learned about D Smoke last year when I heard "top of the morning". I seriously admire him for learning Spanish as most Americans (black AND white) think it's beneath them/not their culture. In ANY situation where someone takes the time to actually learn the language of the people they are dealing with (not just communicate, but LEARN) it opens up an entire new world of trust and inclusion. Can't say it any better than that.

I grew up in L.A. Now I truck drive cross country. This is the only Black man I know from California that speaks fluent Spanish. When I went to Florida and New York for the first time I was caught off guard. I came across Black people that spoke little to no English. But they were about that Spanish.
