Hey Lama! Thanks for the guidelines. I really enjoy your videos. After this video I started to prepare for the ubers. Spent hours looking for the keys, I also collected better gear than you were, but not crazy better. I had black and gloom, more crashing blow, as you recommended. Also, I added some lifeleach in jewelry and merc which slows enemies when hits. I was sure in success with all these preparations. But in contrast with your video I noted that monsters in my game seems more obsessive and moves faster: it was impossible to isolate Duriel from other mobs just running about, for example. Then I decided to kill all staff, but there were physical amune mosquitos, so I could not did anything with them as a smiter. In my version of the mod it is possible to redistribute skill points, so I decided to relocate skills and stats and kill the staff as a hammerdin. Moving slowly, step by step, died several times I killed Duriel, Izual and Lilith (each times converting from smiter to hammerding and vise versa). Finally, I collected and combined all parts of the body in the cube and opened a portal to Tristram. The torch was close. I found Diablo and started killing him with my shield, then he summoned one minion, and then another... It was impossible to overcome this unexpected difficulty. On Plugy website I found the following statement in the description of the latest Plugy mode "- UberDiablo, UberBaal and UberMephisto can spawn monsters (Need LOD 1.13c or higher). (Thanks to SnapChip)". SnapChip made my evening!

I am super glad that you don't edit your videos. I love your perseverance and I learn a lot about how you look at the the game. I think most players, like myself, would have just saved and exit after finding Lillith where she was and get new keys.

Been playing this game to and from, many hundred if not thousands of hours, since D2 came out (not lod, but original) and i learned TODAY that fricken thawing potions can be pre-chugged. I looked it up, and sure enough, cold res. Same goes for antidotes. I can not believe how many times i got my ass kicked by duriel or andariel on some of my weaker characters. Amazing. So happy that this game keeps on giving for 23 years. Amazing that it can still be something you want to play.

This guide help me beat UBERS first try with smiter . Mine is lv 89 . He has few decent gears , HoZ, G face,Raven frost, Goblin toe. Weapon is flashrender club for 20% crushing blow and 25 % open wounds. But very poor posion resist . Got kill by Lilith so many times until I change to use wizard spike. Izual and Duriel are easy . Main Uber tristram is real difficult. I try to isolate boss 1 at a time , still the mobs are non stop spawn . I do not have life trap spell , so drink a ton of potions , run back to town , repeat . Took me almost 2 hrs to finish . If I can do it again I will have specific posion resist for Lilith and have a life trap wand .

Thanks, this is one of your best videos, because it shows how to play without uber gear. You call it trash, 90% of the players call it good gear they have picked up, without killing Baal 1000 times. We need more videos like this that can appeal to players who have not got HR's or super elite items.

Hey, MrLlama, this guide is so funny and I really like you series of playthrough. I think you could equip hoz, dracs black runeword. It's easy to farm it solo. And farming ubers is pretty simple thing. But I have a question, how to farm nihlathak on budget? And when I say budget it means gear that you can self found in a couple of weeks. Not SO budget as your smiter) But not so crazy as lightsorc with infi and light skillers +45 life and so on. Is there such a build at all?

This video gave me quite a lot of confidence, so I quickly leveled up a hammerdin, farmed some gear from mephisto then keys with my blizzard sor, definitely better prepared than this, cleared the mobs with hammer, respec to smite, kill the mini ubers, all good. Then I opened the portal to tristram and got camped by uber mephisto and his gang. I have to quit to get my gear back. There's not even a chance, when the loading screen ends, I'm already dead, it looks like the game started before I could even see it, nicely done blizzard. I'm running d2r on switch btw.

Last time I did ubers on a budget was over 10 years ago. I had a gris shield, 6 soc crystal sword with 6 shaels in it (could have been 5 socket, don't remember), and my prized 1.08 vampire gaze I had laying around. Don't remember what else I had but those items stick out. Definitely couldn't do it alone. Had a friend on a sorc to lure and a hammerdin. Eventually people caught on and those crystal swords/gris shield became crazy expensive. The shield especially was a shit item you usually sold or left on the floor.

Working on my first Smiter.. never did one before. Would Goblin Toes and Rattlecage be too much crushing blow? I also have Bloodfists. I went ahead and used the cube recipe to upgrade them as well

Black runeword has 40% Crushing Blow and is also super cheap.. And there is that rainbow aura that is better to use when fighting mephisto. Helps with that conviction aura.

A smiter that can do ubers can be really easy to build. Not really many rare items, I'd recommend to make one so you can do ubers for other people too. I'm not sure what I had but my first smiter, which was like 10+ years ago started out with easy to get items. There was a vid on yt, I don't know exactly which ones they were.

in your opinion which is the cheaper (and easyer) palyer for Uber and DClone?

20% ias gloves are always dark-gold colored, you just need to look at the color of the gloves when shopping

i found a butchers pupil axe in nm it has extremely high damage, deadly strike and open wounds, and it is uppable sooo.... i think that would be best for a budget smiter.

why do you run 2 life and 2 mana on your belt when you consumption of life potions is 10x the mana?

I know this is old, but I don't see anyone else mentioning it. A "mega budget" means the budget is big, as in, there's lots to spend and the build would be expensive. If you only say "on a budget" then the general understanding is that there's a (low) limit on spending, but specifically saying it's a mega budget means the opposite of what you meant.

Even getting materials for the Uber Tristram can be rough, but Paladin is a good class for this. Smiter and Hammerdin. PS. Is there a D2 all quests speedrun category? Maybe all bosses too (all unique bosses).
