These are the perfect items to add, not too crazy and game breaking but opens up so many avenues for new builds and content to match the understated attributes like minus to enemy fire res.

The Resist Fire aura can make andy's visage on your a2 merc more viable even without an expensive fire res/ias jewel

Just having a helm with an aura is so powerful, slap this on any merc and you don't have to consider fire res anymore, not for yourself, your pets and summons and not for your party members.

Thinking of getting a fire act 3 merc and using this helm on him for my summon necro. Think it would be cool having him enchanting my skellies plus the huge fire resist aura for them too.

you didnt mention this opens up the andariels visage socket now. thats huuuuge. ALSO, this fixes the lack of fire res on the spirit shield. This will also pair very well with a phoenix weapon/shield/both on fire sorc (if anyone could ever afford two phoenix...). Also, this does help assasin's fire bomb skill in terms of -13 fire res, since that skill isnt considered a trap. You could put this on A1 merc, then give A1 merc the newly added 4os +3 skills grand matron bow with insight for a dual aura. theres so many uses and build varieties for items like this. I reallly hope they keep adding items like this to the game for the love of satan. It's so easy for them to do and takes hardly any work. 6 month intervals of ladder is long time but if they add 6-10 new runewords each time, this game is really going to shine with build diversity and further replayability. hells yeah

Might be somewhat worth considering for Necro. Besides Corpse Explsion, Fire Golem is getting a lot stronger and does count as a fire skill. They also have obvious access to Lower Resist.

The fire resist aura is pretty amazing for any spirit shield user. This is gonna be a blessing for baal runs early ladder.

Once PTR hits on Tuesday I wanna try this with a summon druid and put the helm on an act 3 merc. With the new spirit wolves and ravens the build would have decent resistance and deal physical / cold / fire damage. Should be fun for a solo playthrough!

Raven Lore is still pretty good since you can socket a fire facet in it. So it'd be +3 more skills for flickering flames vs +5% more fire dmg and 10% more enemy fire resist pierce for Raven Lore. Total damage should be very comparable.

Concerning Ravelore, with maxed out synergy is 720% increased damage for ravens. Thats 80 skill points, so a full summon druid. Depending on the base damage increase were talking 600-1000 damage per hit maybe even more when we get into the 30s with +skills.

Looking forward to this one. Want to try a double dragon, grief zealer pally with flickering flame. Essentially a tesladin with a switch to fire, keen to see how strong it could be. Especially with the changes

Well with the changes to the Raven ability, Ravenlore should still be BIS for that but we will definitely need to play with it in PTR to see if ravens are viable or not.

When comparing Flickering Flame to Ravenlore, how does the fact that the Ravenlore can be socketed affect that comparison? It seems to me that the difference between -15 fire res (patch notes say it's a range of 10-15) and a possible -25 fire resist (with +5% fire damage) is pretty significant. I don't know if it's as significant as an additional +3 to skills (in a good druid pelt base), but I think the comparison needs a deeper dive on the numbers. I think it's possible that a well-rolled Ravenlore with a socketed facet might still be BiS, and it excites me that the idea of what's BiS might depend on the individual rolls of the item and what other gear and companions you have.

When act 6... I mean I didn't say anything.

Tried this out in the PTR with a dragon tail assassin in light of the new changes. Still need to tweak some things, but it might actually be viable in Hell to use a martial arts assassin now.

Weather or not the act 6 leak is genuine or a bluff on Llama part. But people are missing the bigger picture. If its real, it's generating hype. If it isnt real then so be it but, it does get the community talking about it. Which shows we want it, making it more of a possibility. We just need to stay positive with one another. We are all here for the love of a 20 year game. IMHO, I think they should retry reaching out to the old blizzard north crew. Build relations and trust. Someone in its creation said they wanted to have various expansions like magic the gathering sets. Just be true to the game and you don't get more genuine then letting thr creators of the franchise have at minimum have a consulting position. Just let bygons be bygons and make up with the creators of the franchise. It's a favor dream, but could be a reality. Bring back the blizzard from the north... *edit spelling*

Great for act3 mercinary especially when paired with plague! The lower res proc will make the act 3 fire merc OP. Especially for cold/light sorcs. Might make infinity obsolete.

My holly fire paladin is waving + dragon shield and armor. I love grief so ill be using grief as my main weapon over hand of justice.

Since they buffed the sewers level 1 to 85 area.. I think farming that with this helm will be just golden!! Imagine how chill it will be to MF in a town!

A3 Merc. Summon druid or necro. Fire immune pets and even more enchant to buff up your horde. Someone else in your party can run Might on their A2 merc.

I really like this approach to fire skills. There are so many fire immunity, so the way to make fire skill viable is 1) -fire res together with infinity 2) you need fire-item to be strong in other aspect, and resist-fire aura works perfectly here (in terms of theme-wise and gameplay-wise)

No confirmation on having items show their iLVL so we can tell if a GC is dropped from nihla, diablo, baal?

Hopefully some of the new 85 areas have zero fire immunes. Fire is my fav but too many areas make it annoying

The Ravenlore comment is just wrong. For exemple going from lvl 44 to level 47 fissure gives you +400 damage, from 4300 to 4700 (with maxed synergies). Ravenlore + Facet can gives you an additional -10% res +5% dmg, which for fire druid is pretty much a clean +15% dmg or 650 dmg in the same context. Then the question is, do you prefer 100 fire or 25 all res? But overall the better -res and the open socket on Ravenlore makes it stronger than the pelt +skills, and it would also be quite cheaper. The only way the new runeword would be better is if the physical damage of the new fire spells scales a lot with + skills and you have the perfect +3 +3 +x rich boi pelt. But for pure fire like Fissure P Ravenlore still wins.

so, if a paladin in your group uses fire resist aura, you get the 1/2 max fire res, while they get the 1/1 max fire res?

People forgetting ravenlore can have a 5/5 fire facet on top of having extra -5% enemy fire rez.

For pvp I can only think of es fire sorc that can make this runeword viable, other than that it'll just be used as bm stack with hotspurs :p.

Alright so no summon build is gonna use this helmet coz it's +3 FIRE skills not ALL skills so that resist fire is only used for the A3 merc, fire sorc, fire druid, fire trap sin or MAYBE firezon
