I wonder if you paired with a CTA, would give you more survivability. This would be an interesting character to stand in the back and heal your party. You basically created a cleric/minstrel :P

this build was called the ambulance-din a long time ago and it worked really well in party-play PvE and specially in 4v4 PvP. i have never seen this past the early 2000s. the damage of choice back then was smite.

I remember seeing a build called the abbot and the author said that if you prioritize integer dr along with meditation etc. It would basically be immortal but he did all his testing on p1 iirc. At the time he wrote it foh wasnt like it is now and the runeword plague didnt exist so it probably is even more viable nowadayas

Great vid as always! I found an eth skin of the flayed one a couple weeks ago, I saw your other vid on it and thought it was worthwhile to keep, glad to see it as an option here. Also for your main skill, would sacrifice be an option? You wouldn’t need mana, plus it’s cost is something you’re regenerating anyway

"replenish life" gives basically .1 regen per second per point.

@@GGMentor that is true, the "replenish life" didn't do as much as you thought it did, though. years ago, during diablo 2, i found out that it wasn't 1 to 1 conversion. i wasn't sure of the exact conversion until i looked it up on the wiki before posting my reply here. it's pretty handy at low levels but at higher levels, it's far less useful than pushing life steal and skill based recovery rates.

Pretty sure mana regen is tied to mana pool size. With a larger mana pool you wouldn't be perma OOM. Probably replace the BK rings with SoJ's and have some + mana charms. I do think the "concept" itself couple work well with a different setup. Less focus on the replenish life, and leave the focus on the plague/tri-aura with merc. Focus the gear more toward Holy Bolt/FoH so you'd have a larger mana pool, FCR, and more damage and I think you'd have a great lazy mana chaos runner. I rock a FoH/Hammer/Smite tri spec pally... though I mostly end up just running Chaos anyway... usually just chill in cleanse or redemption aura unless I need to hammer animals or smite Baal. I do enjoy the theory crafting though.

If building this character from scratch it starts to fall of at Nightmare because the damage you regenerate is extremely poor. It's due to either too low damage or you do not have the AR to hit monsters..... Best way is to get a Weapon with Ignore Target Defense and farm Exp with Zeal and use Smite with Bosses. Even with 20+ HP Regen still makes you hard to kill. The only thing is the game is a real draggy grind if you FoH, Great for PvP, but not so much solo play. Multi player this build is great.

If you double stacked on your merc using an insight, you’d loose a decent chunk of regeneration, but it would open up a slot for fanaticism as your aura, pair that with smite and something like some fire res blood gloves, and you may actually be able to kill most things. Heck, even without swapping auras, swapping COA for something like a chamed gface would give you enough CB to slowly be relevant to Ubers, assuming you have OW somewhere.

Problem with that is Merc does too easy, as soon as he's dead all the Regen is gone

Also yeah, I was wondering wich gloves you used. With mostly foh laying of hands isn't really usefull. Blood gloves for smite would be awesome

Pretty sure this video was before that. But I don't think it would matter as I was going max personal Regen. With plague sword ect. Now that cure helmet is out I could do insight weapon / cure helmet myself 0_0 for even more Regen

Crazy build, but kind of useless. Takes to long to kill and in a party it is still not relay great. For that investment of gear a Smiter could do the same only on life tap procs.

lol I mean I didn't really try to kill anything that wasn't the purpose. The purpose was just to endlessly regenerate and make the enemy give up in exhaustion . Honestly I could see a couple tweaks here and there a bit of Crushing blow added and he'd probably do ubers just fine. But I think it was pretty clear I didn't really try to kill anything for the most part, it was really just a test of the regeneration to see how well it worked.

The +1 Charm skillard made Prayer Aura go from Heals 53-56, you said 53.3 by mistake reading the radius. 11:50 time of vid. Love your channel by the way!

@@hossman7432 so a lot of that math is hazy because I double it with meditation and cleansing. Also it seems to increase by 1 1/3rd per lvl which is weird so every 3 levels it bumps up 2 instead of one as the 1/3rds combine
