Bought a 23 plate ex demo with 125 miles on the clock 4 weeks ago. Had a Logan when they came out and was very pleased with it. The Jogger has lived above and beyond my expectations . First long distance travelled was from Dumfriesshire to Shropshire and back. According to the onboard computer on motorway driving I achieved 60.1 mpg, no complaints there !!! I filled the tank 2 weeks ago and have been running around town and short journeys here and there, covered 366 miles and the fuel gauge had just moved to half tank, I filled up again with 30 liters (6.599 gallons) which worked out at 55.46 mpg , can anyone complain at that???? Driving position is very good. no aches and pains after a journey. the sat-nav picks up speed cameras and bells sound when you go over the speed limit. If I had complaints it would be no rev counter, and the automatic locking is a bit hit and miss, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't so I just disabled it and use the pad to open and lock the doors. Value for money I can't complain, would I buy another? probably not as I think I would go for the new hybrid Duster when it becomes available, only reason being higher driving position.

Great economy and i would probably have got more if I had paid a bit more attention. Dumfriesshire, eh? Well if it makes you feel any better I’m from Lochmaben! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.

@@houseofcars1973 Should have said I got the Extreme, very pleased with it. I think Dacia's are looked upon by many as the same as Skodas were years ago but no one makes jokes about Skodas nowadays. Hope Dacias turn out to be the same in years to come. I'm in Dumfries itself so if you see a 23 plate in grey it will proably be me !!!

Had my Hybrid Extreme for six months now and can't fault it. It's had a few niggles like the electric heat switch broke, there are a few cheap bits on it and it has rattles and squeaks that Dacia are going to sort out. The big thing with this car is the seating arrangement. Either 2, 3,4, 5, 6 or seven seat or just turn into a van! Great for having picnics in as you can sit in the middle row and use the tables! I took the third row out as I use mine a load lugger for my business. The best thing about this car is that you can genuinely forget when you last visited a petrol station. I regularly get 55+mpg going to a bonkers 72mpg at one point. You get better results in B Mode and ECO plus warmer weather helps. The A/c will hammer the MPG figures but it has such huge windows, just open them! It has huge doors, high up driving position plus you can see the front corners from the front seat that is helpful for parking. The secret is drive it as a van like I do, I have the "Privacy Pack" so my rear windows are permanently blacked out. Yes, the materials are a cheap but you pay for what you get. Stick with the hybrid as the manuals with the tiny 1.0L suffer with clutch problems. You can get erroneous warning messages for no reason with the Jogger but these tend to go away on start up. One big niggle is if you are too quick with the gear selector when starting up, it will not start and a load of warnings come up. The handbrake will disengage and there have been stories of people rolling into walls or garage doors. Go ahead and buy one, don't compare it to other cars of a similar ilk as it is a budget car.

I spotted one of these at a starbucks drivethrough this morning, it caught my eye due to the length, it looked like a useful and decent looking estate. I desperately hanker for an EV estate having previously owning Volvo estates. Immediately researched what car I'd seen as soon as I returned home and suitably impressed by its versatility. All thats required now is a BEV version to nail -it. When that day comes, I'll buy one without hesitation.

Hi, I said I would update you about my Jogger Extreme Hybrid and the sleep pack. Compared to my Duster, the jogger is a better ride, it feels tighter and there's less roll in cornering. It also feels more comfortable, I really like the seats and driving position. You mentioned that it starts up on battery power but that's not always the case. When the battery is on the low side the engine will start first. On a couple of occasions there has been excessive vibration when the engine is running at standstill. This was looked at by the Dacia engineer but he could not get the same results, typical!! He did a software update but that didn't help. Whilst driving, the transition from battery to engine and back is like butter, almost undetectable. Overall, I'm a happy customer. It's a different story with the sleep pack. I had to wait four weeks for it! It's a shame the bed can't be unfolded and ready to use if you want to drive. The front seats have to be raked forward to allow full bed extension making driving impossible. A tad inconvenient. The mattress is memory foam and a good thickness. I'm sure it will be comfortable. There is of course not much headroom but that's expected, it's not a campervan! It takes two people to lift the bed into the rear of the car, it's pretty heavy. There's plenty of storage space inside. The fold out shelf is a great idea. Overall, a useful bit of kit but I'll be ordering a tailgate tent (not the Dacia tent, it's too big for two) to give us extra room for stays longer than a day or two.

Have had a Hybrid Extreme since October 2023 with 12,000 happy miles and an average of 57.6mpg over the last 2,000 miles with a mix of motorway and local roads. My grown up children and their friends do give the Jogger a ‘dad’s taxi’ role, maximum six passengers so far. Main reason for purchase was as an affordable hybrid with a reasonable passenger/ luggage capacity. I bought my own space saver spare wheel and cover which sits in the boot or behind the back seat in seven seat format, held in place with a couple of bungee ropes.

I would say, it's more like driving a 5 speed than a 4 speed automatic gearbox of a petrol engine as traction below 30 km/h is exclusively provided by the 50 hp electric engine. The petrol engine gearbox only kicks in, when power demand exceeds 50 hp and when speed is above 30 km/h. But I agree, the equivalent of only 5 speeds with a petrol engine is not a lot. My father has bought this car and he likes it a lot. I drove it and I enjoy it too. If you play the by rules for good mileage, you can achieve easily 5 litres per 100 kilometers. Personally I score 4.4 liter per 100 kilometers. However when it's really cold in winter, heating the car needs more petrol and then my score is 5.2 liters per 100 kilometers.

Have a 2 year 1ltr 7 seat Jogger in Spain, great car but changing it to the hybrid which I pick up a week Monday, only reason for changing is to have an automatic. My existing Jogger has wireless apple carplay, the basic model did not but most people have said the disconnect problem is because you are using a cheap cable.

I got one myself in March 2023, Extreme trim with 1.0 ltr engine. It has been brilliant. I was previously driving 2015 Zafira 2.0 diesel. One of the reason I changed the car was the new emission regulations. What made me buy Dacia - it was the design, I love the headlamps, and how spacious it is. The rear seats are way more comfy than Zafira's baby seats hidden in the floor. Since March we have traveled with this car to St. Tropez and back and had two trips to Poland and back. Two adults, two kids, dog and a roof box and luggage and we still traveled 75-80 mph easily. In the town I drive in Eco mode, fuel efficiency is brilliant. 50 litre tank allows me to travel 11 miles daily to work and back for a month, from pay to pay. The car is very practical, I don't have to worry that my 4 year old is going to break something or colour the interior with crayons. The boot is massive once the rear seats are removed. I have managed to transport a corner sofa in two pieces to the tip, no issues. I'm now looking to get one of those hybrid versions as I'm being lazy to change gears. As it goes for connectivity to my android phone, I used google maps for all my trips and spotify alongside, and it never disconnected. Perhaps some issue with the unit or apple play settings?

Was on my cards, between a Honda Civic E:Hev, Corolla Touring Sport, and Jogger hybrid. Civic was not even available, Toyota was 8 months on back-order, and the Jogger... Well, it's Renault tech, and I was coming from a diesel Megane Estate. The engine is not a bad choice (naturally aspirated, timing chain, port injection, old Nissan design), the gearbox, I have my reservations. I want top reliability. I went for the Corolla. Of course, much more expensive (about 10K more, all things considered), but really, didn't actually need all the space of the Jogger. On paper, a 140hp Jogger with good fuel Economy and price, was very tempting. But my brother sold me on Toyotas, their hybrids are fantastic. Imo, looking for a good gas-sipping familly hybrid, but don't want a SUV, these are the three sensible choices IMO.

Great review Bryan, the best Jogger review I’ve watched. Finally someone who’s actually lived with the car for a bit and used it like a family car should be used. Nice to see your other channel - I watch AutoEV regularly as we have a small EV. We have a Logan Stepway diesel, bought new in 2018. Has been absolutely faultless other than the rubber seal around the boot door coming loose. Totally reliable, loads of boot space and with a towbar and topbox added takes our 2 dogs, camping gear and 3 bikes easily. It’s basic but is a great family workhorse. Thinking seriously about swapping it for a Jogger and interested in the Hybrid, but still not sure it justifies the much higher price. You’d need to do a lot of miles to get that back, even with the better average MPG. Will hopefully get a test drive in one soon and see what I think, but from your review it sounds like a much more modern and comfortable car than the Logan. One thing I did notice - same seats as our Logan Stepway, which isn’t a bad thing!

We have had a Logan MCV both living in Romania and in the Netherlands, for almost 15 years now, and it was just a great car. Underrated, laughed at etc., while we felt we could laugh at everybody, because they did not know what they missed out on. Sadly, the new Logan was not thát. Not the replacement we hoped for, so we just hope ours does not brake down. The Dutch roads help with that, lukely. This however is just thát. This is just the same as my old and faithfull MCV, but build with the tech of "now". Everything it does just breaths Logan MCV. After this video I know what our next car will be. Thanks!

@@houseofcars1973no problem. Best of luck with the channel. Subscribed. I completely agree with you about the Jogger being an SUV for people who don’t like SUVs. I’m currently driving around in a Nissan Qashqai courtesy car. It is, objectively, a very good car and, first world problems aside, I feel like something inside of me has died. The cars you list as spiritual kin to the jogger are spot on too. The Yeti in particular. I would also add things like the older Subaru Forester, Skoda Roomster and the Volvo XC70. However the Jogger trumps them all on both affordability and versatility. I may be in the process of switching my petrol jogger for the hybrid, and your review has really encouraged me to push for this outcome to my current situation. Thanks again.

Good review, thankyou. I like these a lot, simple attractive shape and would make a good dog carrier of which we have 3. Once the hybrid system has been out for a few years, found favour with taxi drivers (they know what lasts) and proved itself reliable we might well go for one ourselves. I've had great results from adding extra soundproofing and this could be an ideal candidate, which would muffle the harshness of the 4 cyl engine at higher revs.

Thanks for the extended review! I do not own a Dacia but very much interested in the Duster (the Jogger is just too small - not enough space around me while driving). I did a test drive in the Duster Hybrid having a much better feel and space but recognize your "complaint" about the engine just wanting to go into way too high RPM and according noise (even if you do not push down the throttle the whole way down!) which is annoying indeed and probably for me the reason why I am going to skip this one even though the smoothness in the city so to speak. Tomorrow another test drive with the TCe 130 manual gear box and see what that will bring... (probably too much RPM too for some gaining in power but that is only when I ask for it...)

What would have been great is if, on the hybrid version of the Jogger, Dacia had implemented a camping mode. In this mode, only ventilation, air conditioning and heating would remain on. In camping mode, the daytime running lights would be switched off, and both screens turned off. When the battery became too low, the internal combustion engine would start for a few minutes to charge the 1.2 kWh battery to 100%, then stop until the battery fell below 50%. An app on the smartphone, connected via Bluetooth to the Jogger, would make it possible to: 1) launch camping mode, 2) set temperature and air flow, 3) open and close the windows, 4) start and stop air conditioning, 5) display the 1.2kWh battery charge level and the vehicle's outside and inside temperature, 6) exit camping mode.

A colleague recommended to try the original cable that came with the phone, and since I've tried that (with a USB-C -> USB-A adapter), I haven't had the disconnect happen a single time (previously it would happen very regularly).

Thank you for this review. I have been looking around at cars as I change my car (Motability) next February. I have very much shortlisted this car, the Extreme version, as, though I don't need 7 seats, I do need lots of space for my wheelchair and my assistance dog, a Labrador. I don't do long journeys very often and hope they are correct when driving in and around my home I could be on electric for 80% of the time! I loved my C4 Citroen Picasso but they stopped making that so I have an SUV which I hate. My dog is getting older and finding it difficult to jump into the high boot. I've only done 2500 miles in 2 years as I can only get my dog, or my wheel chair in at any time! She will not get onto the back seats. We've tried and tried and given up! Stickers and lettering, colours of handles etc. are of no interest to me! Are they deciders for some people? There aren't many charging points down here in Cornwall so I worry about a fully electric car as I don't think I would be able to have a home charging point. What I do know is that, if I can get my dog and the wheelchair in the car I will be doing a bit more mileage!

Great video and Fantastic 4K quality ! Dacia's are everywhere in Ireland, sensible people buy Dacia because everyone else is up to their eyeballs in debt buying much more expensive cars on PCP and low interest usually provided by the likes of VW bank so instead of buying the 2nd hand 15 K car they'll drive out in a 40 K car, that's Euros. If this bottomless pit of PCP wasn't available very few new and certainly very few expensive cars would be sold here in Ireland. I believe around 50% of new car sales here are on PCP. I'm going to ramble on an bit here but bear with me, I drive a Volkswagen id.3 electric car with 77 Kwh battery and it's decent to drive but fed up on longer trips having to wait 30-50 mins to charge or have to wait 1 hr in a queue, no thanks, I did it for 2.5 years and the Wife has insisted that I get rid of it for a proper car because she can't stand this charging when on a long trip and freaks if the battery goes low. It's very stressful really especially with kids in the back. Next is the infotainment, can't stand it, climate controls in menus, radio in menus, haptic "buttons" are irritating as hell, it has voice control and can take 30 seconds to find a radio station or it doesn't find it at all after it tries an online search, just give me buttons and knobs for the radio, bring back simplicity. If I didn't go through the menus, looking away from the road, I'd have to use voice control and for example, If I wanted to get the news I'd want to make sure I try get the station I want 5 mins before the hour........It's like waiting for an old Valve TV to warm up only this was the way it was and you expected it where as with a modern car you expect to be able to access radio and stations rather quickly. Screens are highly distracting and worse now is the fact most new cars are coming with a 2nd screen for the instrument cluster with even more menus and things for people to fiddle around with while driving, it's complete madness. So last week I drove a Kia Stonic and was blown away with the interior compared to my id3 that cost 41K Euro's here in Ireland and I had a lot of fun driving the 1.0L 3 Cylinder 100 Hp petrol manual, my God, I can't describe in words how much fun I had after 9 years driving electric cars, It really made me realise how boring electric cars are once the novelty wears off, I had forgotten how much fun listening to the engine and changing gears can be so I decided that I will say good bye to EV because while I save money on running costs depreciation has hammered me and this is my 3 ev and depreciation is even worse and I can't find a dealer to give me any decent trade in price and many have rejected the electric car as trade in altogether so I don't know what to do but I do know I will not buy electric car again. I will not pay such money for a car either this is what attracted me to Dacia, but now I'm seeing more tech creap in that I really don't care for any more because there is such thing as technology fatigue and all these screens and menus certainly give you that. Dacia sell the Sandero with no screen but holder on the dash for a phone but there is no dedicated and proper knobs and buttons for this and there are still people out there who don't have or want smart phones but in reality it's pretty stupid idea not to have dedicated radio buttons and station presents that are easily accessible. After 2.5 Years of suffering menus to change climate settings It was absolutely fantastic to see and use the manual climate controls in the Kia Stonic, wow, simplicity ! There has been a big increase in roads deaths here in Ireland and I do wonder is it related to the ever increasing amounts of tech in cars ? cars are not meant to be entertainment centres but vehicles to get people from A to B and car manufacturers keep adding techno junk and a lot of people don't use most of these tech features, most people just want a cheap car. Another irritating fact is that Dacia have unfairly received 1 star in NCAP because they didn't include electronic crap that bings and bongs at you or pulls the steering in your hands if it feels you're veering off the road. All this stuff is irritating as hell. Next is emergency brake assist, yes, assist, many people don't understand that these systems are driver aids not replacements and even adaptive cruise won't prevent a collision if the car in front stops too fast well then the same laws of physics still apply to computer chips doesn't it ? yes, so you can expect a surprise if your car won't stop so the point I'm making here if anyone is still reading, well done, but the point is that while Dacia may get 1 star for lack of a lot of this electronic nonsense the likes of other manufacturers can get 5 stars with absolutely woeful infotainment systems and screens, including digital instrument clusters that encourage looking away from the road as they have many ways to customise the layout and endless menus to go back and forth through. I do wonder if insurance companies will start increasing premiums on cars with all this distracting tech ? I do hope Dacia keep things simple going forward, look, at the end of the day anyone who wants spotify or google maps can use their smart phone so why offer so many screens and tech in cars ? I like manual climate because it's just so simple to use. I'm reading more and more complaints about screens in cars and there can be software issues and sluggish performance. When I get into my car I have to wait nearly 1 min to be able to access climate or radio...........please give me back buttons and knobs ! Thanks for reading !

So, first of all, thank you for watching and sending such a lovely comment on the video. I’m glad you enjoyed it. You raise some very valid points in your comment, and I too believe that Dacia have been unfairly penalised for not included needless systems in their cars. Euro NCAP needs to take a long, hard look at its judging criteria, and I for one think that their ratings are now pointless. I review electric cars in AutoEV and I too find these assist systems far too intrusive and comment as such. At what point do we as drivers have to take responsibility for the situation we find ourselves in? It shouldn’t be the car’s responsibility, but us as the driver. But anyway, glad you enjoyed the review, thank you for taking the time to comment, and please do keep watching. Bryan.

Great comment! Unfortunately, Dacia is obligated to introduce all of these "safety aides". The new ones will come with all these on standard. Regarding the Access trim level, yes, you can use your phone, but mainly for navigation. Radio works very well, using buttons from the stick behind the steering wheel and stations are shown on the middle screen between the diles. Also, braking aid works fine, because is just an aid, not intrusive at all and, if you do not want to be present, you can turn it off and it will be off forever. The only thing that you have to turn off every time is start/stop, but is just pressing the button. This, for the petrol version. I drive a Sandero Stepway TCe110 for 8 months now and it is just as petrol car as it can be.

Top spec with self parking, pop out tow bar for a bike rack etc. Liking the Jogger being auto and electric motor for stop start around town Plus reversing camera which I don't currently have. But otherwise seens a bit of a sideways move which am struggling to justify while the Ford is still going strong with most things I need already. Shame the middle row doesn't recline or slide like the Ford. But realise its cost saving. It's good for the kids sleeping when on a long run. How was the economy after the return leg back up the motorway? Imagine it drops off a fair bit at higher speeds. Thanks.

The reason I was looking at the hybrid was because of the extra horsepower - I am not a racer but I want to be able to merge in quickly on highways and overtake on b roads. However, after watching this I am not 100% clear - Does the hybrid actually provide better acceleration than the petrol engine with manual gearbox?

Apple doesnt even give away a proper cable with the Iphone. As the owner of a 2012 Prius 95% of what you said about the hybrid system sounded very familiar! I am wondering if Dacia licensed it from Toyota? The only difference is the “4 speed gearbox”. I wonder if that’s actually an eCVT doing simulated shifts? If so, I would expect this to be very reliable system - no rubber belts in the engine bay to snap, no clutch or gearbox to go wrong. Don’t let the revving put you off, if it getting too loud just back off the gas a bit, there’s a bit of knack to getting up a hill quietly but it can be done. Good luck to anyone buying one of these, I may join you when the Prius eventually packs in (but no sign of that yet).

Austral is a 3-6 month build time.. the scross I can get in 3-4 weeks, the juke in 2-3 weeks and the dacia is estimated to be 3-4 months. At the moment the Austral is therefore 3-9 months away as it takes 2-3 months just to get motability to decide on the grant for the advanced payment, that I can't afford otherwise, 3 months + 3-6 months build time. If I don't get the grant, I'll fall back on paying maybe £500 advanced payment which I can barely afford. But in that case, i think the price is not justified. 1.0 lpg version is much more economic. for 19-20Eur lpg tank, i get 450-500km range on lpg alone. and the 1.0 engine is not as loud as 1.6, even though it 3-cyl, which is ridiculous.

Lets do not argue for the arguement sake, but simply look at the 1 star Ncap. (and take deep breath) Then I find it hard to justify upgrade my Sandero to jogger estate hybrid when I can get a Toyota estate hybrid starting at 28,500 pounds, at 5 star Ncap rating. And not to mention the potential of 10+ year of warranty when I am buying from Toyota. When I walked into a Dacia dealer back then, I already gave up my pride as owner of any premium vhicle but being practical. And that means today I can equally gave up my pride to walking into a Corolla dealership and being equally practical. Lastly, simply look at the Nissan CVT, the worst supplier of automatic gear box on earth, on my Dacia, it will be a sin for me to "hell dive" to another Nissan CVT again with Jogger. The cheap clio 1.2 L petrol has been replaced with a very expensive hybrid with lots of tech and for what ? the 1.2 L petrol was just as efficient, it may have been slower but how many clio owners cared about having automatic and faster acceleration ? all the cared about was cost to run and cheap, the hybrid offers nothing to the traditional clio buyer now except it costs a lot more money ! To be fair though, it isn’t because the car isn’t safe in a crash, it’s to do with the fact it doesn’t have a lot of active safety systems such as lane keep assist, brake assist and so on. That’s why Euro NCAP needs a serious rethink in my opinion. Just slapping on electronic aids doesn’t make a car safe. Properly engineered crash structures and well thought out passive safety systems is what it comes down to. Lane keep assist won’t help you in an accident if you’ve turned it off (as many do), but good crumple zones and ABS brakes will. They can’t be turned off.
