Dad just could not remember me today 🥺

This is the first time Dad just couldn’t place me even after a few hours. He was confusing me with his Sister Linda’s husband David. They used to joke with each other and I believe Dad thought I was David and kidding him by saying he was me. As usual he remembers Danielle.

His Dad seems to be in good spirits though. If it was me I would be happy about this. When you love someone it's not about you or if they even remember you, it's about them. If he was angry and hostile then that would of course be much harder. I would be happy if this is the worst he gets. It's really about his happiness not who he remembers.

It breaks my heart watching these videos. My mother was a picks patient. Dementia is so hard. It took my mother 20 years before she passed. She had great long term memories but couldn't remember anything short term. God bless you and your family for taking care of him. It's only going to get harder. And it can be so frustrating at times. You have a lot of support in your family. I didn't and went through guilt because I needed help. It was so hard. I hate to say it but after 20 years of everything I was so relieved when she finally passed. I did my best. But I didn't have the support with family you have. Thanks for sharing the videos. People really need a better understanding of dementia. It's so hard to lose someone that's still with you. 🤗🤗🤗

I am so sorry you didn't have a good support system with your Mom. My Mom got sick 3 months after I lost my Son to an unknown cause. I could barely breathe but she needed me. We were able to prolong her life by 4 years. After she passed my body and mind collapsed. I now have to use a wheel chair trips outside my home. No one speaks of the toll elder care has on the caregives body.

@@annsowers4591 it does take a huge toll on us. And people that have never gone through it can't understand. It takes incredibly strong people to go through these things. Consider yourself a super woman. After my mother passed I helped a dialysis patient for 4 years. 4 miles from my house. He passed Oct. 2, 2023. I don't know why I have a heart to help people but I do. It's like today valentines day. I don't celebrate any man made holidays that cause stress and depression. So many people are suffering and need help. You should do something for someone just because not because of a holiday.. All I have to say to people is smile, help someone when you see they need help. Stop being in such a hurry for a job that they will replace you with someone else tomorrow. People matter. I understand people greiving and cemeteries. But there are people alive that are lonely that would love flowers.

That Ed is always safe when he gets confused, it's a beautiful thing. That is the testament of the love Ed's family has for him. It is a blessing to everyone involved.
