YOOO i dont know if this is coincidence or what but this album came out today in 2009 haha. And your dads first reaction is that same day in 2022, shows how solid this album is

Yo I hate when people compare you to turning tables in a bad way. Kids showing their parents should be an entire genre. It's awesome and good way to experience an album you love. And for me the audience member, I get to feel like I'm not alone in my love for these albums. I don't have a lot of friends and have some speech issues so KZfaq is a huge outlet for me in general. Mix it with music and Im in a real good place. Thanks so much

So glad you guys reacted to this! I can’t tell you how many people I’ve heard say that this album “saved their lives.” For a lot of us young millennials, this album came out during high school and helped us through those turbulent years. Cudi was one of the first rappers to be vulnerable and open to the degree that he is. When I was younger, he made it cool to be emotionally honest. Great reaction as always guys!

I wouldn't rank MOTM1 very high on my greatest albums of all time anymore , but for the time and the place I was in my life when I first listened to it, no album has ever had a bigger impact on me. Cudi was the first time I recall really feeling like an artist was speaking directly to me and understood what I was going through in a more specific way.

What can I say about my boy Cudi & this album, super influential. Cudi is among the group of rappers thatyou would say ran with what Kanye started when he first came out and wasnt necessarily a tough dude but made dope music right alongside J. Cole, Wale, Drake, Wiz Khalifa, & Kendrick. This came out when I was a sophomore in HS I believe and since then I can honestly say his music helped save my life. I always say Cudi is my Spirit Animal lol. That aside the criticisms of thos album in particular are fair, this is still early Cudi where he was still kind of figuring out what works best for him; his voice is just super unique even though you maybe wouldn't classify him as a true singer. His next album after this is probably still my favorite overall and is where he sound fully came together IMO, not to mention throughout all of this he's working with Kanye behind the scenes on his music. Great video guys.

I was such a big fan of Pursuit of Happiness when I was in my late teens/early twenties. It always just sounded so out of this world, I kind of compared it to how people on a shroom trip or acid must feel like lol, i cant confirm or deny since ive never taken either but thats just how alien or experimental it sounds. And dont get me wrong I have loved many of Cudis songs but this one has always just had me in a kind of chokehold lol.
