I go back this one a lot now. Echoes of Silence is a cold title for an album, I never really noticed. Your dad has a really good ear for the details. All the different sounds in XO/Host are addicting

a really cool fact to know about the voice effect in Initiation!! going from the low to high pitch was symbolising going from a comedown to being intoxicated. The low pitch was to resemble being on a comedown. His normal voice is him recovering. The high pitch being the peak of his drugs. Insane art honestly

the vocal effect on initiation with how his voice transitions from low, to normal and to high pitch is a metaphor for how this girl is meeting all of his "boys", as if they are all speaking to her. you were almost spot on with your thought "I wonder if he is talking about the same girl?". in fact throughout all of trilogy, the girl he is speaking to and speaking about represents his original fans and on other songs such as "next" he is speaking to his new fans. he takes her (og fans) on a journey from meeting him, knows what she likes and wants (him to remain himself) but he knows that she will end up disliking him as he goes off with this new girl (his new fans) because he knows she will change him which is evident as his sound and music changes as his career progresses. this literally happened too, as soon as Abel began making more "pop" music, a lot of his fans were yearning for him to go back to his old sound, some of them even not fucking with his new music at all. when you go through the trilogy and read the lyrics with this in mind its actually a crazy concept 💀 the fact it actually happened too is even crazier. the song "rolling stone" on thursday is the cleverest one for me. even in the video for rolling stone you can see the symbolism of this concept being portrayed. you even realise that this same concept of speaking to his fans carries over into kiss land, genius work. love your guys' channel btw, big up you and your pops every time 🤝

Man, I loved seeing y'all go "oh something's about to happen" during The Fall. The brilliance of how the entire song is saying he's not afraid of the fall and the entire time the music is building and building and building but it never actually "falls" - or in other words, the beat doesnt drop. The entire song is the climax and you keep expecting something to happen. You never get the release that you're anticipating. Imo, a near perfect harmony between the lyrics, the music, and the themes.

Like the way he sonically sounds like an angel but is lyrically devilish (Similarly to how they broke down the dynamic between Xo and The Host). Matching this with the harmonies and the eerie and atmospheric instrumentals is enough to be thought provoking imo
