The Weeknd’s darkest project lol. I feel like this was him at his lowest mentally and emotionally. Numbing the pain with drugs and women, but being even more blatant with it than ever. “Initiation” is probably his darkest song and “Echoes Of Silence” is his most haunting. Anyways loved the reaction lmao!

I’m pretty sure that “crying” and the other pitched up vocals you hear throughout the album are actually Abel’s voice too.

Fun fact: he wrote this mixtape in Montreal, he once said that he had a lot of darkness in that city.

ah yes, Echoes of Silence probably my personal favorite out of the trilogy I used to listened to this when I was in high school and my mom was mad because i failed the entirety of high school because of listening to echoes of silence instead of doing my homework. 😅

Another song you should listen to is “King of the Fall” it came out in between Kissland and Beauty Behind the Madness. It’s very very good - probably his best single!! It has a music video to go with it.

Next honestly is my favorite song on this. I think its pretty underrated, the way the echoing female vocals work in cohesion with Abels voice as well as the really interesting distortions. Its a unique song for sure
