When Abel and Lamar were young they would throw parties in their apartment and to make it look more fun they would blow up balloons to make it look cool. The album pic was Lamar's GF in his mother's bathtub. They could not afford fancy graphics and Lamar actually broke into a local collage to use their graphic computers to make the final cover. This is why Abel and Lamar established the HXOUSE to help young creatives in Toronto who do not have access to the fancy tools to make their dreams reality

Facts in the 2010s I would say The Weeknd’s house of balloons Bryson tillers trap soul album and Jhene Aikos souled out album really influenced these newer R&B artists they all created a new sound of R&B.

This EP will forever be one of the most special pieces of music i’ve ever experienced in my generation. To think this is his first work is absolutely unbelievable. High For This, HoB/GTG, The Morning, Wicked Games… all some of my all time favorite songs ever.

kissland number 1. trilogy was epic but the evolution of production and expansion of the Weeknd as "artist" on Kissland mixed with the same filthy toxicity was perfect. got progressively worse from there. DawnFM being the worst imo @@Factinator2904

The Morning is my first alarm in the morning lol my last is False Alarm 😂 This mixtape is one, if not the, best albums of all time. After Hours is up there too. I loved this reaction!! One of my favorite pieces of music of all time. Remember when this came out in 2011 and listening to it in bandos with my older brothers and their friends while they rolled . I was like 8. Abel embodied it all; he glorified the low life, drugs, addiction, dependency. xoxoxo 🤞🏽

Also on House Of Ballons/ Glass Table Girls he refers to 707. That stuff was a cleaning substance (Sprayway 707 Glass Cleaner) people would use it to clean up after themselves from using blow.

Hot Take: I think the Knowing is the reason he put her through what he did in the album. He knew her true character, just like in Echoes of silence Dirty Diana got put through that album because she tried to break up his relationship he had with his girl

when I saw this reaction was an hour long, I knew y’all would give this mixtape the love respect and attention it deserves because it’s genuinely up there in my favorite mixtapes/albums of all time, imo it’s definitely the best R&B mixtape of all time. I just wish y’all could have listened to the remastered Trilogy versions of these songs, some of them do have the samples removed like What You Need and The Morning, but just about every song on the Trilogy version sounds soooo much better. In most cases they’re just louder, better mixed and punchier. Unfortunately Trilogy versions have basically been completely wiped from streaming
