Tyler, the Creator - IGOR
/ igor
open.spotify.com/album/5zi7Ws...
Produced entirely by Tyler himself, the album features guest appearances from Playboi Carti, Lil Uzi Vert, Solange, Kanye West, and Jerrod Carmichael. Preceding the release of Flower Boy (2017), the album was primarily recorded in California, with recording sessions also being held in Lake Como, Italy, and Atlanta between 2017 and 2019.
Music journalists have noted that Igor continues to build on the hip hop and neo soul sound established in Flower Boy, while also incorporating R&B and funk influences. Critics have noted the album's use of synthesizers and low-mixed vocals. Thematically, Igor follows a narrative of a love triangle between the titular character and his male love interest. The album employs the "Igor" literary archetype to explore themes associated with love, such as heartbreak, loss, and jealousy.
To help market the album, Tyler, the Creator released the single "Earfquake", which reached number 13 on the US Billboard Hot 100, becoming his highest charting single. In its first week of release, Igor debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, moving 165,000 album-equivalent units and becoming Tyler, the Creator's first US number-one album. It was a widespread critical success, being named among the best albums of 2019 in many publications' year-end lists, and won Best Rap Album at the 2020 Grammy Awards.

I love the genuine aspect of him being so in depth with the music and picking them all apart to grasp more of a genuine feel from them. That day was the day of the release of IGOR and all over social media said that this album was amazing, but i´ve never listened tyler before, so i decided to smoke some weed and give it a try. I remember when the synth from igor´s theme started to kick in i instantly smiled and felt relief of all that pain that was drowning me. I heard this album non stop for a whole month and helped me throught out the hardest time of my life. I just wanna thanks Tyler for being one of the people that saved me.

New Magic Wand is such an unreal track, man. 18:40 the layers of those killer synths, the singing gradually getting louder and louder as the urgency of Tyler wanting his lover becomes an urgent need, I love it so much! The "I can make her leave" and the part where "leave" gets harmonized is my favorite little touch in this song (around 18:48 is where it starts then the leave gets harmonized a couple of seconds after). This generally makes it euphoric to listen to with a good pair of headphones on because of how harmonic it is! I could talk about this album forever and the little details it has in it to make it so perfect. Thank you for finally listening to it, you guys are my favorite KZfaqrs! Much love.

I did in Vancouver, honestly one of the best days of my life. Not only was the show great, when we were riding the bus back to the hotel a couple of the kids from the show started singing Earfquake and the entire bus joined in and we all sang the entire song. It was pretty surreal lol his fanbase is pretty cool
