Daddy's Little Girls is a 2007 American romantic comedy-drama film written and directed by Tyler Perry and produced by Perry and Reuben Cannon. The film stars Idris Elba, Gabrielle Union, Louis Gossett Jr., and Tracee Ellis Ross. It tells the story of a lawyer who helps a mechanic in a custody battle against his mean-spirited ex-wife over who will get custody of their daughters.
Monty (Idris Elba), a mechanic, struggles to make ends meet and raise his three young daughters alone. When his drug-dealing ex-wife wins custody of the girls in court, he enlists the help of Julia (Gabrielle Union), a successful attorney, to get the girls back. Romance unexpectedly blooms between the pair, but the couple must come to terms with their very different lives and find a way to keep Monty's family together.

I think Julia was genuinely attracted to him physically but was just trying to fight it because of his socioeconomic level. Idris is fine as hell and a better catch than the rapper and the married man 😂

The point of the scene Monty getting put in that hold was to show how much power Joe had not physically but mentally over Monty. Monty was emotional and probably lightweight intimidated at this point of film. Remember Joe was the biggest thug of the neighborhood

Jah & Tone, I hope y’all see this. I appreciate the nit picking. It’s always good to hear a real breakdown of a movie especially one I haven’t watched in a long time. It’s great to hear different perspectives from what the writer or director may have envisioned. I believe conversations like these will begin to elevate scripts, characters, and films we see in the future because it’s honest criticism of movies we love. We can give flowers and celebrate while still pointing out “that was lame of him” “that’s not realistic” “that wouldn’t go that way”. All in all, thank you guys for the amazing and CONSISTENT content! Keep killing it #2DAMAAAX 💯

Yall missing the point of Monty character . He was a decent dude that respected himself. Yeah he could get any woman he wanted but he had standards. He could of been smashing then dipping. Come on y’all, there’s no way Gabby’s character was mvp. Monte literally saved the whole neighborhood from be terrorized by Joe and they all had his back. He saved his girls from the momma. He bought the shop from Louis’s character allowing him to retire knowing it was in good hands. All gabby did was take the case and she didn’t do that until she realized that Monte had been framed on the rape charge. She didn’t even let dude explain the situation before automatically believing the worst and kicking him to the curb.

Not a fan of Tyler Perry movies but this does have some moments that make you laugh a little MVP - Julia LVP - Julia's friends and the thugs are tied for this spot Over acting - the kids & joseph ✊🏿 rating - 2 1/2 black fist It's not a above average film like Jah said but it's also his favorite Tyler movie so I understand why he said that. For me, this movie is very average and the rewatch ability is very low.

I dont know if its the timing of the film or not but im go na hav to rock with the film on this 1. It kinda goes with what Tyler getting flack for that if a woman has an option of a good upstanding dude that if she in a certain position financially she not gonna get that the dude also in that same position might not be the best choice that dude struggling but trying will put in some good relationship work but do yall really see Monty taking a woman to these restaurants or dates they tslkin bout now a days his focus on dem kids as it should be and alot of woman wouldnt wanna play 2nd fiddle for that financial compensation....plus ge getting choked out everybody prob heard about that.

Hate this movie ⭐️⭐️ . This movie reinforces so many black stereotypes . I’m glad yall point out the inconsistent writing . Starting with the fire . Gabriel union just went into the deliver us from Eva bag . Julia friends were so inconsistent . First they hook her up with a man they should have known she would not rock with , a ghetto 40 year old wannabe rapper . The second date was definitely funnier hooking her up with a black lawyer stepping out on his wife . Later when Julia and Monty hooks up , they criticize her for hooking up with someone from the hood . The baby momma boyfriend was.a super villain . Monty definitely didn’t have hands , he hit bro with his car . Ironically the romance made sense to me . Getting her to go out to the bar loosened her up . The shot made her let her hair down . The date melted the ice she been ready . She was ready to give the draws up to the lawyer stepping out on his wife . My Theories . Monty was single because he smashing everything , including Melinda . You see she got her engine fixed and didn’t pay . Jennifer aint never been about nothing . She smashed Monty and had them babies to r trap him . She thought she was going to the nba . That drug dealer was her last hope , thats why she dressed so young for her age .
