How to Make Popcorn
Turn the burner on to 7 (medium high heat)
Add oil to coat the bottom of the pan.
(I prefer in order; Vegetable oil, Canola oil, Olive oil.)
Add Popcorn kernels to cover the bottom of the pan.
When the corn stops popping, turn off the heat.
Empty the pan into a paper bag.
Enjoy!

A mom here. I use exactly the same pan for making popcorn. A couple of hints. Use corn oil to pop your popcorn, it has a high smoke point so it won't burn, and it makes the popcorn taste extra corn-y. Don't lift the top off the pan because a kernel can pop up into your face and burn you (I've had this happen). I shake the pan as soon as it starts popping. Shaking the pan helps get the unpopped kernels to the bottom and helps keep it from burning. Never leave your popcorn while it's popping or you can easily burn it! Also, if you don't like one brand of popcorn, try another, there are yummy brands out there that taste like real corn

Dear Dad, I am lucky enough to have a great dad, but I still love you for these endearing and helpful videos. I had researched the best way to make popcorn on the stove and measured oil and shook it consistently so it wouldn't burn and left the lid slightly ajar to let steam out, etc. My husband then made his own by putting it on the stove and going to take a shower. When he came back he had perfect popcorn, just as good as mine with zero effort! 😂 Thanks again for being you!

This is exactly how my Dad taught me! I'm glad to see others getting a chance to learn how to make it. Additional Tip: If you don't have a lid for your pot, a sheet of aluminum foil with a few holes poked through the top (toothpick sized) can be crimped around and on the top of it and will do just fine. Once you make it yourself, it's sooooo much better than bagged popcorn (and you have more control over the butter/salt/seasoning)

Love the fact you are choosing the old fashioned way to make popcorn. I would add to move the pan back and forth while it's heating up and the popcorn starts popping. When I put it into the paper bag, I add melted butter and salt and shake it up well. This helps to spread the butter evenly on the popcorn. I have a friend who makes herb butter which is yummy too.

@@Theresa5601 West Bend Stir Crazy Popcorn Maker Machine - 82707, from Target. I got it on sale for 25 bucks last year. i think it's normally about 35. Works great, has decent reviews, and they even sell their own brand of kernels, salts, etc, albeit you can use any kernel brand. My mom and I love it. Easy to clean afterwards too, and even after dozens of uses it has yet to fail popping even a single kernel! After it's done popping you just want to be careful for the steam when you first flip it over. I recommend just using ovenmitts or potholders, simple as that! Edit: they also make a ton of other West Bend popcorn makers, this was just the one we chose, so glance around!

My son and I had plans to make popcorn for movie night tonight. Thanks for the video. We enjoy making either stove top or air popped popcorn. I appreciate you taking time to make this video.

my dad is kinda a deadbeat, like he's responsible but only when he's asked to do something, other than that he just plays guitar and smokes weed, so when i heard the "hey kids" and all those dad jokes it was so refreshing and just gave me a feeling i'm not really used to, but i like that feeling

The laugh you do after each dad joke is my absolute favorite 😂 I saw this joke on a sign around Father's Day: "Where do you store all your dad jokes? In a dad-a-base!" I think we live in the same town so you might have already seen that one, but it made me think of you 😄

My dad taught me a little differently. Drop 3 kernels in the pot to start, cover tightly. Wait until 1 pops then add the rest of the kernels. Shake the pan gently. When the popping starts tip the lid slightly to allow steam to escape so the popped corn doesn't get damp. You can skip this step but if you do you'll find a few popped kernels that seem kind of melted from getting wet.

Sounds weird, but I actually love melting butter, adding BBQ sauce to it, mixing it well then drizzling it over popcorn! Yum! 😋 Great video!

So I need to learn how to organize my garage better. Best hooks to use for bikes, long latter, chairs and rake/shovel stuff. Trying to use vertical space since my garage is small.
