True, DAF never intended to battle with Scania and some other brands for the most powerfull truck. Instead they did a very nice job with optimizing the old and reliable 11,6 litre engine. For such a small engine the torque en BHP was very good and especially the fuel economy. Which was for the DAF customers (market) the most important. And I still love the sound of those old DAF engines. But the V8 sounds badass and that's also music to my ears... ;)

I have never seen or heard a real DAF 3300 before.It sounds quite nice I still have my Matchbox DAF 3300 model,which my parents bought me as a child.Matchbox's version is slightly different to the one in this clip.My model's a non-articulated dropside lorry

Wieso unrealistisch? Weiß doch jeder das Tür aufmachen und nach hinten rauslehnen bei fehlender Bodenhaftung und festgefahren sein hilft. :-D ;-) Ist ein alter Fernfahrertrick ... du steckst fest? Mach die Tür auf, schau nach hinten und schon gehts wieder ... lol. Aber ansonsten, ja ... mit eine meiner Lieblingsserien. Auch wenn die beiden in einer Folge mehr Schräges erleben als mancher Fahrer in ihrem ganzen Fahrerleben. Andererseits ... wer will sich schon immer nur ereignisloses von A nach B fahren anschauen?

Diesen DAF und den 3600 hatten wir damals. Allerdings war mein Karton ein DAF 2800. Mit dem Teil Innerdeutschen Fernverkehr zu Fahren war Prima. Zeitvorgaben gab es nicht. Man konnte bei 280PS meist nur schätzen wann man ankam.Das war jetzt natürlich Quatsch. Diese 280 PS waren mal eine enorme Kraft für die Fahrer. Und ich muss zugeben das der 3300 und auch der 3600 für die damalige Zeit was besonderes waren.

Non ho mai usato camion con ZF, ma direi che col solo trattore si parte in 3° o 4° veloce. Con lo Scania 142, solo motrice scarica, per partire facevo 5° - 7° e le altre marce a seguire.

@@michanus1092 And they smell awfull... Lack actual power (they need a turbo to get to the maximum power... Where as the oldies had a turbo for a better combustion/air to fuel mixture) The romance is gone in the Modern Vacumcleaners. I do hope to change that opinion soon with the new series of MAN trucks... Buut the new MAN Series (TGS/TGX) they actually drive themselfs....
