Video footage from Daft Punk's first live performance in the U.S.A. at Even Further in 1996 at Eagle Cave Campground in Wisconsin during Memorial Day Weekend. This video footage was shot by Brad Serdan of Reflections Video Productions. The video footage was re-mastered and digitized by Andrew Gundrum with my permission. It was originally shot with a Hi-8 Sony Camera and edited with linear video equipment. Even Further 1996 was organized and produced by Drop Bass Network, Woody McBride, and David Prince. Please like & subscribe to watch more videos including D.J. interviews from electronic dance music and underground rave history. I anticipate uploading dozens of videos from my analog archive in 2021.

@@PhilthAdelphiAIm pretty sure they were already touring for a little bit before Homework, So its totally possible that this was before homework especially since the crowd is pretty small compared to some of the insane crowds they had during the daftendirekt tour
@Lakoopa2009

@@PhilthAdelphiAThey toured before homework but that was mainly when they were underground. They had pretty much made most of the songs in Homework long before it was released but they were mainly just for live shows or for singles that would be released by Soma records I'm pretty sure. They decided to release them as an album thru Virgin Records and held the daftendirektour throughout '97. At the beginning of the tour, not many people knew who they were. With the release of Homework and the success of it, by the end of the tour, more than 45% of the crowd knew who they were. Pretty cool!

I was standing right next to this cameraman the whole time. To his left. This was in a tent with a floor that was entirely mud by this point. There had been a biker party in the campground just before this rave, so the grass was all gone. Then it started raining.. I was 16 with a fake ID sneaking into clubs and going to raves and heard Around the World for the first time. Blew my mind and changed my life and musical tastes forever. I ended up moving to Europe in my twenties when euro dance music hadn’t hit America fully yet. Daft Punk was ground breaking in the 90s born from their own love of the Chicago House sound and really started the electronic dance music scene world wide. Interstella(r) geniuses!

@DAFTBOYSLIM
@DAFTBOYSLIM 3 жыл бұрын
No. You hear that there was only bass at that time. The girl asks for more treble because she is impatient. He laughs and puts them on a few seconds later. It shouldn't have been common to go down so low for so long, yet another invention that is used in every set / mix today.
@neohuman4602
@neohuman4602 3 жыл бұрын
@@DAFTBOYSLIM First of all it is not a girl who is asking but a man, listen carefuly... And why are you saying No ? What is wrong on my statement which is only a translation of someone asking to set up the treble ? Also someone calling directly Thomas with his name mean he knows him, thus it could be Guy-Man asking to put the treble because he forgot to.

smol bean it was their first live US performance ever. They spent about a year in Chicago learning from the house pioneer s of the late 80’s and early 90’s. That is why the albums they release was called “Homework”. They were doing their homework learning from the very best. They even have track called “Teachers” on that album. It is an awesome track actually.

@@oshin7373 The mainstream success of Daft Punk forced more underground forms of music to push the genre in new directions and the proliferation of computers/DAWs created shortcuts for people to make extremely boring and formulaic music. The price/access/learning curve of hardware synthesizers and drum machines are roadblocks that people can now sidestep. 21st century culture is a whirlpool of recycled 20th century culture-you can just look up a KZfaq video of how to sound like your favorite artist and imitate it and pat yourself on the back without creating something new. Genres have to evolve-it's in their nature to do so-and they inform contemporary artists' and the beautiful journey of music. also you should check out stanislav tolkachev kzfaq.info/get/bejne/eMmRicKD3tCsiYk.html
