The fact that it's a simple riff, but he plays it in a way that's totally unique. It has a certain rhythm, and those palm mutes are so on point. Just awesome.

Always loved this song and admired Paul Jackson. He actually performed this live at the Grammy's alongside other Pop/R&B greats like Nile Rogers, Nathan East, Omar Hakim, Pharrell and Stevie Wonder. There's also a clip of it here on KZfaq.
