The fact that it's a simple riff, but he plays it in a way that's totally unique. It has a certain rhythm, and those palm mutes are so on point. Just awesome.

Niles composed the main riff, but PJJ composed the secondary guitar lines. PJJ is a jazz funk guitar virtuoso himself.

Always loved this song and admired Paul Jackson. He actually performed this live at the Grammy's alongside other Pop/R&B greats like Nile Rogers, Nathan East, Omar Hakim, Pharrell and Stevie Wonder. There's also a clip of it here on KZfaq.
