No they have 3 Grammys. This was their first Grammy. They also were nominated just last year for traditional album of the year this past year and this year they received a star of the Hollywood walk of Fame. Daft Punk was electric dance music . They were aFrench band and this is a medley of their hits done entirely a Capella ( which is insanely difficult) PTX hits run the gambit thru every kind of music. I subbed for more PTX. Some suggestions. Bohemian Rhapsody, Havana, Gold , the Prayer, nineties Dance medley

This is their FIRST Grammy award winning song. They have 3 so far and just got a star on the Hollywood walk of fame

This is one of their standards that more often than not is on their concert tour set lists. One of their best recent live performances was at the Hollywood Bowl 2022. It would be cool to have you watch that one after seeing/hearing the studio version. This one also includes their ‘new’ bass, Matt Sallee. I say new in quotes because he joined in 2017, and has been with the group as long as Avi was. 😊

Pentatonix actually has won 3 Grammys, the first of which was Daft Punk. The other two were Nutcracker Suite and Jolene with Dolly Parton.

Daft Punk was a French cyber punk band known for their electronic sounds and the fact that the duo always wore motorcycle helmets that his their identities. Yes, this is a medley of their more well known pieces. PTX did this on a shoestring budget of only $400 for supplies and basic recording and editing. They recorded it in Avi and Kevin's closet and filmed and edited it in their kitchen. It was sent out to a professional team for mixing and editing.

PTX on how to win a Grammy with a video cost 300 dollars, lol shot in one of their closets and another's kitchen. Mashup of Daft Punk (a band that used A LOT of Tech sounds) songs. Crazy talented people on display!! SO MUCH GOING ON!!!! ADHD overload LOL. Enjoyed the reaction.

My 2 favorites are Sound of Silence and The Prayer. In both of these Matt is a new member who took over for Avi in 2017. When Matt sings a verse, Scott (tall blonde guy) sings the bass line. Kevin is the beatboxer. Scott, Kirstie, and Mitch all have known each other since high school and sang together then. They added Avi and Kevin when they went on and won the TV show The Sing Off. I think they won the 3rd season. That is so fun to watch too.

It might be fun to watch a few Daft Punk videos to get a feel for who they were. They had a pretty long and successful run and produced some curious videos along the way, Technologic being one of them and the first song in this medley. As for Pentatonix, you can't go wrong with anything on their site.

I’m so glad you’re continuing with Pentatonix! You may find it easier to avoid copyright claims if you layer a filter or text over the video to confuse the visual tracker. Other reactors have found that to be effective, and we don’t mind at all. We’re here for your reaction, so as long as you can see the video clearly, we’re good. Honestly, any video you choose from their catalog will be good, so scan the titles and see if you recognize any of the songs. Some of my favorites lately have been their 90s Dance Medley, Havana and Come Along. And Bohemian Rhapsody is a perennial favorite. Peace …

I don’t mind the copyright claims, just some are completely blocked. It takes a few days for that to come down. I just plan for the delay in my schedule now. I will try the video masking though. Perhaps will prevent the initial block. Thanks for the tip.

Thank you for reacting to this awesome Pentatonix video. They are amazing. Just choosing something Pentatonix randomly seems like a fun thing to do. Go for it. You will come up with some real gems. IMO, everything they record (video and audio) is great so you can't go wrong.

@@AngReacts Thank you for your response. I appreciate that you are going to do the 90's video. You will be so amazed. What most reactors do is... 1. Turn the video almost transparent. 2. Put a logo or symbol in front of it. 3. Pause a lot. That tends to satisfy the copyright ©️ police. Peace!!

Pentatonix have won 3 Grammy awards: 2015 Daft Punk - Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella (the Academy added the "A Cappella" so that Daft Punk could be included) 2016 Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy - Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella (an instrumental piece with no lyrics, performed by a vocal group with no instruments) 2017 Jolene - Best Performance, Country Duo/Group (PTX collaborated with Dolly Parton on her award-winning song) 2023 Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album "Evergreen" - nominated but didn't win
