Wonderful ! Wonderful !! Very much wonderful and cheerful dahlia flowers garden !!! It's a mind-tumbler collections of flowers no doubt. I love flowers more than my life. The flower is the most sacred gift of nature. O almighty Lord ! The variegated dalliance of Your creation is endless. The man who is ignorant can't ascertain Your existence in the universe. O dear Lord ! Your creation is so beautiful & how beautiful You are !! All praise is due to Thee, the creator of the world. Guide us on the right path.

Lovely Dahlias ! :) I have a question : I've just planted my 4 dahlias too early ( March 20) - should do this in mid April for zone 7b... :/ Can I cover them with something OR should I dig them out and pot them till April ?

Sorry I’m getting back to you so late. How did things go? If you planted tubers, it takes them at least two weeks to poke out any the ground at which point they could freeze but by then you’ll be in mid-April. Planting too early also runs the risk of tubers rotting in the ground from cold and damp soil.

@@singingmeadowsfarm ,Yes, they rotted last month. It rained all May and June. They sprouted late May .

Next time start them inside the house,put them outside when the soil warms up, I did mine on the kitchen floor

How do you start your dahlia plants? From tubers?

Most of my plants are started from tubers but every year I’m taking more cuttings and starting them that way.

Hi Dorothy. I sell the tubers on my website but you should also be able to get tubers from your local Dahlia society.

Most dahlias are 18 inches between plants. 36 inch beds with two rows of plants in each bed. Seedlings I grow 12 inches apart. Giants I plant 24 inches apart.
