Hi Lou C, I think that here in the United States, Hashimoto's Thyroiditis is treated, possibly with thyroid. However, I believe that a particular type of thyroid, Armour thyroid is used. I concur with the others who recommended you get a second and possibly even third opinion regarding treatment options. Regarding the cabbage, I do not know how this would affect your condition. But certainly a high stress level could have negative effects in a general sense. I also applaud you for starting your business! This is excellent! Don't give up! Keep up the good work Lou C! I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s two years ago. One of the first things I had to do was eliminate gluten from my diet because your immune system attacks your thyroid thinking it’s gluten. Making that changed really helped my energy levels. Doctors also recommend eliminating dairy, soy and processed sugar. I have a full thyroid count every six months to make sure everything is normal.

It's really difficult not wasting foods when having to buy larger portioned products. The carrots are huge compared to anything we usually in the US. I also like that you put descriptions of the items & foods for viewers that wouldn't know what they are. Sending many wishes fir you to feel better and whatever you are hoping for career wise find you.

I have a suggestion. I have an auto immune disease as well and I was feeling VERY unwell and gaining weight and really, just miserable. I adjusted my diet. I removed gluten and as much sugar and dairy as I could. If I crave bread I try to find gluten free. With pasta or noodles, I found gluten free or got the ones made with rice. I stopped drinking milk and only eat small amounts of cheese in my dishes or as a snack. I still do eat Cottage cheese, but only maybe 3 times a week. I had already given up as much sugar as possible, but I also tried to limit my artificial sugar intake. Lastly, I focused on my gut health and started taking pre/pro biotic, and focusing on foods that promote good gut health. It took about 2 weeks to feel the difference. I almost gave up, but when the changes came.... It has been life changing. I feel so much better. My body feels comfortable again. Some days I catch myself and think, I am SO GRATEFUL I tried something new! I still do have bad days where I don't feel great, but over all, these days are much less and the good days are MORE! Sometimes I do eat gluten. I might be out with family and there are no other choices. When I do that, I do pay for it, but within 1 or 2 days of my regular eating, I feel better again. Once, I ate regular pizza at a restaurant. I didn't want to order a huge gluten free pizza because I just didn't want the left over.... That was a HUGE mistake. I was so sick about 6 hours later. I felt horrible! There was something different about their crust or something, but it made me feel really bad. I will never eat regular pizza again! Also, from doing this, I have lost 30 lbs. So maybe research this and see if it is something you would like to try! Good luck!

Hi Lou, sorry to hear that. I have Hashimoto, and keeping it under control for years. He didn't give you medication because your hormones are good. this is the last comment i can read. having suffered with hashimotos for 25 years i just say not all of us have your outcome. blood test in the "normal range" is not enough for some of us. she has symptoms of hypothyroidism. why then say the hormones are good. its laughable. suffering with this horrible disease for so long i will say most people do not understand it. i'm glad you are keeping yours under control for years...ie. i guess you feel ok. i am gluten free and rarely eat sugar. i take vitamins and still feel awful. i'm sorry to be so passionate about this but there is so much misinformation on these comments for this poor lady. obviously she is a person that has done all she can in her life. she's no slouch. if she feels ill, she feels ill. i think she can talk about it to her subscribers and not be shut up. not all doctors are good with thyroid and medication, even endocrinologists. they refuse to believe the patient and go by blood results. fortunately there are others that know some blood test results do not accurately indicate what is going on. i'm really sorry for her if she wades through these comments. no wonder she barely does videos anymore. she feels ill and gets dismissed from many viewers.

I am in Europe and in my area again the doctors are not jumping with supplementary hormones until the blood tests says it is needed. Again, gluten free /sugar free/diary free / industrial food free is a common recommendation. Definitely it depends of the country ... I still believe the best specialists are in Japan, as the country had a jump of X 3 on thyroid cancers related to nuclear incidents in the area and if I have to follow a protocol, I think the best is Japan one. As the incident is bigger to female than to men, here it is common to double check with an extra specialist, too, to test more hormones. Definitely for Lou is more complicated as she is with thyroid cancer + autoimmune disorder and approach is different. She is in Japan that is not the healthy place for thyroids and the price is so big...

I was diagnosed with Hashimoto two years ago and ever since that day I take synthetic hormone every day and I feel great. This condition requires monitoring at least twise a year. Once a year is absolutely not enough. Also a prescribed treatment is a must. The dose of the hormone you'll take changes through the year, so your doctor should have explained this to you. I suggest taking a second opinion, because treating this condition the right way is a life-changer. I suffered the same symptoms as you and they all disappeared after I started taking the hormones. Good luck!

hello Lou. Lots of courage with your thyroid problem. I have hypothyroidism and I am receiving medication but the new doctor lowered the dose a lot, I have gained a lot of weight, I am tired, depressed and have pain all over. It's a very difficult illness 😕, I understand you very well. It's strange that for a Hashimoto's you don't get medication, in Belgium, people have them too, they're the same as for hypothyroidism. Thank you for your lovely video. Take care of yourself.❤️

I love how you appreciate the beauty around you, Lou. I think that's sometimes something we have to work at. God loves you, Lou! Trust him. I always enjoy your videos.❤

Hello LouC I was diagnosed 3 years ago and I have Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism. It can be draining and difficult at times. I take 25 mg of Levothyroxine and I get sunshine on my rough days. My doctor also gives me 20,000 of Vitamin D. Get plenty of rest, eat healthy and stay away from stress as much as possible. I hope that you feel better soon😊🌹

I have that and my son. Its been 18 years for me and lately its been hard to manage with meds. I have changed my diet to whole foods, no gluten, no grains except sprouted gluten free, no processed foods, no sugar. I have lost 11 pounds. I also only drink water and only green or herbal tea, occasionally coffee. I limit dairy and red meat because of inflammation. I take vitamin d3 5,000 daily, vitamin c, b complex , magnesium glycinate and a probiotic , cortisol manager at night because of stress and it helps with sleep and do walking every day. I know all about the depression, joint pains etc but implementing some of these changes has helped. ♥️♥️ I hope this will help you some. I do all this because doctors don't go by how we feel, they go by lab numbers. Dont give up Lou! 😊

My mother had this from the age of 28. When I got to univ a friends mother was a Naturopathic doctor. I had a talk with her about this. I hated seeing her daily pain struggle. I got my mother's highly resistant feet to see this doc for possible help. There are natural aids you might want to consider. You don't need misery following you for life. The only thing my mother did in natural medicine and it made a HUGE difference. You will make your own decision, but know there may be something for you. Standard medicine doctors are frequently quite closed minded. I use a blend of standard, acupuncture, and naturopathic. It works for me. Many Blessings and good luck! We all want the best for you!😊❤

Hi Lou I have said this to you before about thyroid disease. I wish you could be prescribed levothyroxine. I know from experience and surgery that you must take hormone replacement T4 or other TSH. My endocrinologist said our bodies work like a finely tuned engine. If your thyroid isn’t right, then nothing will work right. Your thyroid/hashimoto disease is an autoimmune condition so yes, antibodies will attack, but that doesn’t mean you have to live with all these symptoms. I also have lupus and again it’s antibodies attacking but I do have medication. I do not understand why Japanese doctors are so casual about your illness. Sorry to lecture you Lou. I did enjoy your video as always and hope very much that you have a change of luck soon. Those goody boxes are a really good idea and shows your commitment to work. Well done you xxx

Your video made me think of that Annie Proulx quote, “Everybody that went away suffered a broken heart. "I'm coming back some day," they all wrote. But never did. Lou - I have daily disposable contact lenses. They are very convenient (no cleaning, storage, etc.) and avoid any build up of elements that might occur in a monthly lens. Daily lenses cost more but more that make up for it. You can probably get a sample from your optometrist to try out. Good luck.

Lou, I have suffered from Hashimotos thyroiditis for more than 30 years. I take a thyroxine tablet(150mcg) every morning and have my blood tested every three months before I see my Endocrinologist. Recently, I had a biopsy done as I had deveoped a nodule. Thankfully that was negative. Apparently cruciferous vegetables aren’t good for people with thyroid problems, so I only eat a small amount of cauliflower and brocolli occasionally as a treat. Cutting out sugar is a good idea too. I take almost every vitamin available- A,the B’s, C, D3, etc and take calcium, magnesium, folic acid and Iron. A good multivitamin such as centrum covers nearly everything. Take good care of yourself and God bless xx

I have Hashimoto’s too. Mainly diet helps. eggs and dairy and processed foods and high sugars should not eat. High carbs like rice, potatoes, bread should not eat. High protein and vegetables good. All these things will cause inflammation, plus stress causes inflammation. I know the pain is terrible. I have lupus on top of it. Everyday I feel like I am in a car accident. Meditation, listening to type of music that soothes you, breathing techniques to calm you. I use hot water bottle for pain not heating pad. ( rubber hot water bottle help) keep moving, but rest your joints too. I see you eat a lot of rice and noodles, and potatoes these foods intensify my pain. I am simply saying what works for me. I also lost 130 lbs by doing these things. Just wanted to pass along that is all. You do what works for you
