introducing my new (to me) virago 535 daily ride. and doing a small bit of maintenance on it to get it ready for my daily trip to work and back. Sorry about the wind noise, its quite breezy today and it defeated my mic muff

I think the coils should be minimum of three ohms. The TCI ingnition can't drive the 1.7/1.8ohms coils for very long without overheating/burning out/catching fire. Several sources say it doesn't matter what coils you use but the oem spec are 3.8 to 4.6 ohm. The lower resistance coils are going to draw double the current through the TCI and shorten its life. The one I have here has melted the solder joints on the transistors.

For mine i just used the manufacturer recimmended. Ran fine till i sold it a couple years later, still going strong now.

Hello i have a 1995 Yamaha Virago 535cc as well that sat for two years. I have it running and it runs pretty good although after about 10 minutes of driving it once to start running rough, losing power, like the front cylinder goes in and out. Do you think changing the coilpack is the solution? I am ordering one off Amazon, i believe it comes with two coil packs for 36.99 u.s. I look forward to hearing from you and watching more of your videos Thank you.

Wouldnt hurt, but also likely to be a blocked main jet in your carb.

Hello again I replace the front ignition coil which seem to fix my problem I also replace the rear coil I ordered these coils off of Amazon I'm not sure of the owns I also replaced the spark plugs from AutoZone NGK b7es I think is the proper description I will look in post more efficient when I get home. But I am also having a problem with one of the three relays I am missing a smaller one that is located all the way to the right I do not know the description so I'm wondering how to replace it, I wish I could post a picture but I cannot figure out how.

I meant to say I do not know the ohms of the coils are put on, it does seem like it runs hot and is slowly returning to how it was running. Losing power slowly I believe....
