One thing I urge is that you get window curtains that aren't translucent... Having curtains that display light from within your van, will cause interest for inquiry from passersby outside. Moreover, at night ---- the smallest pinhole of light coming through your windows, can be seen from miles away... Hence, possibly causing unwanted visitors... Just a little tidbit for stealth camping!👍

I have an idea you should put up a collapsible partition between you and your sons sleeping areas. That way he can feel like he has his own little room. He could even decorate it with some of his favorite pictures he paints.

Omg I really wanna live like you. I have a 3 year old, and I’ve realized that memories spent with my daughter is what’s most important and I feel like I can only give her those memories if i’m not tied to things that we THINK are considered “necessary”. I’d love to travel the world with her to different countries every 3-5 months. I’d love to travel with her throughout the states, but unfortunately she needs consistency because of schooling. But if I didn’t have her I think i’d live in a van for the freedom. Also minimalism definitely made me realize that this world is consumeristic & there’s so much more to this world then owning things but making memories with people you love.

I have a solar panel on my van roof, too. Even one patch of shade can cause the whole panel not to work, so I always park in full sun. In future it may be better to pay for one night to start to give you time to check it out before committing to more nights and risking flat batteries. On the upside, you are making fantastic memories that both of you will cherish in years to come. Safe travels always. 🙏
