• CLAY I USE: Laguna red low fire earthen ware clay without grog. (EM106 or EM334 wards)
• Firing (Bisque) at cone 06. (I don't own a kiln, so I take my pieces to a pottery studio close by and get it fired in an electric kiln there)
• Wire used: Nichrome wire gauge 28 for stick beads and ghungroo beads; gauge 26 for earrings and 24 for pendants.

Hi mam, I am using 24 gauge nichrome pin. I am rolling the clay by keeping two straight wooden scales. When I am trying to use nichrome wire on my pendant, either it comes in front or back side or the clay slightly getting cracked.

Make the u-pin more narrow. The u-pin is probably too wide. You could try to make it more narrow. If this isn't clear, send me an email on paintedearthbyneha@gmail.com and I'll be able to explain it better with an image.

Thank you so much! Mostly bisque fired at 999 degrees C. It might take about 8-9 hours for the firing process and about the same time (8 hours) to cool inside the kiln.

I have used both and personally I see no difference between them. Maybe in the dilution aspect but again that doesn't affect my painting work in any way.

You just might have to cover it with another color. Once the paint gets absorbed, it is difficult to remove it.

Mam, whenever I am trying to put hole on beads, it tends to crack. I am smoothening using water for each and every bead. This takes much time.

It does require a lot of practice. Infact bead making is more time consuming than the making pendants/earrings. Your method seems okay. You could use a little oil at the tip of your toothpick/refill/hole maker to get a clean hole through the bead.
