Hi Neha... very cute earings... your painting techniques have made them unique and beautiful. I have always loved the dark blue and green colors as they look so rich.. but i never use them as the color is not shown on the jewellery. What u did with the colors today was extremely useful and i am excited to use those 2 colours now.. And thank u for showing us the snow fall images.. a good way to start the month and already reminding me of Christmas😊

@nehagopinathpillai
@nehagopinathpillai 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! Happy to know my tips helped. You can use araldite or E6000 in India to attach the stud posts. They are strong and let it dry for 2-3 days before using. If you are using a water based varnish like me, then a soap water clean up is sufficient. If you are using an oil based varnish you might need to use a thinner to clean your brushes. They have a strong smell so please do it outside you home and cover your mouth/nose. It's unhealthy to breathe in the smell.

@nehagopinathpillai
@nehagopinathpillai 3 жыл бұрын
You can look up clay-joy.business.site/ in Bangalore. You can also check : www.amazon.in/Sara-Sculpting-Ceramics-Earthenware-Terracotta/dp/B07SHRWSK3/ref=sr_1_2?crid=208S4NL3MMHUM&dchild=1&keywords=sara+terracotta+clay+2kg&qid=1604247574&sprefix=sara+terrac%2Caps%2C298&sr=8-2 For both clays it's mandatory to get it fired after it dries. Ideally you will need something which is smooth and pliable for terracotta jewellery making. For jewellery it's ideal if the clay doesn't have grog or sand particles which might make the product have a rough finish.

I don't use a spray varnish. I prefer a brush on. Personally I think using a water based varnish is better.

@nehagopinathpillai 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! If you are in India, provided you buy the materials locally, studs can range from about 50 - 120 Rs. From simple to a slightly grand pair of studs with good quality work. I would say this is a reasonable price.

Hello mam. I have one doubt. You usually use water to smoothen the clay. But u used oil here? Which is better mam? Pls suggest
@nehagopinathpillai
@nehagopinathpillai 3 жыл бұрын
You can use both. My clay was too moist/too wet so adding more water would have made it even more moist. Hence you see me using oil here.

Thanks so much. I just leave it on my work table and let the drying happen on its own. Usually I leave all my pieces to dry for a week and then take it for firing.

@@priyanka1606 I may not be the right person to suggest a brand of alternative clay. I have never used anything else apart from Clay from Clay Joy and clay station (which needs to be fired) and after moving here used only brands like Laguna and Aardvark (again clay that needs firing).
