to anyone curious, the phrase kekw had its origins in streaming chat speak and emotes. but the term itself originated in world of warcraft before that. the 'w' was just added later on when it was integrated into twitch. as for how it came to be in WoW, it was because of the faction language translation in-game that translated LOL to KEK. it can also be traced back to Korean chat speak where they use ㅋㅋㅋ to allude to stifled laughter, as it is the 'k' sound.

It would be crazy if that were actually true considering how closely she sounds like Nerissa. Also, Nerissa has(based on her)has talked confidently about her two older sisters, while one she mentions is the middle older to her and that she's also a demon that's a short stacked with pink hair! 🤨 but, the kicker here is that she mentions that both her older sisters are married with children. So I don't know how mousy comes into terms here.

@besknighter8 ай бұрын
For me it feels more like she is trying to understand how that could be a legitimate job. I mean, she didn't know what Twitter and memes are. How is she supposed to know how vtubing is an actual legitimate job?
@Gilthwixt18 ай бұрын
Like the other reply said, she's clearly making an effort to understand, not being dismissive. She sees the financial results of Mouse's work firsthand, and knows how much time Mouse puts into it, so it's not a matter of her thinking it's "not a real job" and moreso that she wants figure out the logisitics and revenue streams involved. The meme culture education is just a side effect.
@jimbo_mode8 ай бұрын
Don't think thats a very fair assumption. If you are hearing about a job field for the first time, and its very abstract from anything you've ever heard of, its normal to ask a lot of questions, especially coming from the corporate world. I would not be surprised at all if the initial response from most people hearing about vtubing being a job is disbelief. Many people do not spend much time online.
@Darkeus18 ай бұрын
Nah I would say that is a very incorrect assumption. In fact I would say it is the opposite. She displays a want to learn everything about what Mousey does and even actively helps her with things like setup and administrative things.

@TheCalmPsycho8 ай бұрын
I used to be of the same mindset, and still sort of am. I went to a concert as a kid and didn't understand why people did it. I have bought a few online tickets to Hololive concerts though. It requires a sort of attachment to the talent to make sense, and it is aboot having a special event as well. I like the foo fighter's music, but I have no attachment to the band and am not a fan per se. But with Hololive I really like several of the talents, I watched them grow since 2019 and there is an attachment and desire to support them and see the special planned events. But I can't think of any other band or talent that I would pay to see a show. So for people like you and I where we don't get attached to people/bands too often, concerts don't make much sense.
