it is a special "approach" to not ignore the condition and still keep contact. some things are so "unfair" or so horrible - compared to the status quo of society - that some people just don't handle it, they like ignore it or in an attempt to not handle the situation leaves the person alone. But Connor kept hanging out, didn't treat her differently - joke about her and her situation (when they're the only ones. like he doesn't bring it up to other people but when just them hang out). like any friend would about any other friend. like if someone has acne, you make fun of it unless expressly stated that there's a boundary there. if someone is short, you make fun of that UNLESS EXPRESSLY STATED BOUNDARY.
