Honestly, it was the best desition. Sad Toei literally force the director to do a lot of change for merch sake, culminating the in the cancelation. YES!! it was canceled by Toei, and the reason why the Royal Knights arc wrapped so quickly.

Yeah, like when he was about to punch Kurata’s face in during the moment when ShineGreymon unlocked his Burst Mode. His Digisoul had flared up around his fist before he threw the finishing punch.

@@nekoluxuria7721 iirc, Masaru is in middle school, but yeah, compare him and Taichi in Adventure wouldn't be fare since physical gap is too large, but if we talk about "if they are in high school" then, i still think Masaru would win, i mean he pretty much venturing into Digital world after series, he probably have a body build of brick by that point plus a shit tons of fighting experience, Taichi still live his normal life in high school.

Also, I'll just leave with this: There's a reason there's a full theory about Masaru actually becoming Gankuumon in the future. Agumon would be his Hinakamuy. Hackmon would be his successor in the same manner Masaru was the successor to his father before him. It also explains why he's friends with a BanchouLeomon.

Gankuumon too weak to be future Masaru, Masaru is already on par with a multiversal being, and I bet he probably can be on par, or even beat, someone in the level of Alphamon, after all humans plus digisoul are an unpredictable mix.

It will explain why the entirety of the Royal Knights at the time was in the 3rd opening (the one who was made for the Royal Knight Arc but discarded because Toei canceled it due a dispute between Toei and the director). Since at the time only 2 Royal Knights was remain, Gankoomon and Jesmon.

@@tonyt1616why does that matter? He punched Yggdrasil, who is powerful enough to count as a god - which you can tell just via it being capable of Resetting Everything. In comparison, Xros Wars was lower in the scale - Taiki didn’t fight Quartzmon & it wasn’t a human punching it out. (Personally, I prefer the Xros Wars Manga, especially given how it integrates Taiki’s Dream from the very beginning) (Also, Masaru’s personality would fit right into the Gurren Lagan cast)

It's biggest problem I'd say is that its not designed to be binged or rewatched a lot like the other shows are, it's like a summer blockbuster meant to be enjoyed for the thrill but not much more than that.

... After watching the original 2, Tri, and the 2020 remake for Adventure, watching him beat the crap out of Piyomon makes it feel like he's the bad guy. Also, it's been forever since I watched the other two good series (this and the one with Renamon). I need to find those again.

I found Piyomon kind of annoying when I was younger(I haven't rewatched the dubbed versions so maybe I would still find the English version of her annoying), I think I missed this episode when Data Squad was airing because I think preteen me would have found it a very relieving moment.
