Useless??? Irs an easy way restrain someone it can avoid law suit....unlike going all bolistic like a ufc fighter would do

@@user-tm2uc1pf4i You do know that jiu jitsu practioners are trained quite well to restrain an opponent without going "ballistic"...right? It's mostly what jiu jitsu is about. Now, knowing that, imagine the dude in the video going up against a black belt (I think he would have his hands full going up against brown belt) with jiu jitsu strength and sparring, take downs, submission holds, elbows, knees, punches and kicks. The girl wouldn't last 2 seconds...tell me I'm wrong. The dude would be extremely lucky to last 2 minutes...tell me I'm wrong. Hell, a jiu jistu fighter would easily kick the sensei's ass right after he destroys the dude in the video...tell me I'm wrong.

@chiefcrazyhorse that's what I thought!!!!!!..if you don't understand aikido then, you don't understand martial arts ..ufc is not martial arts.....that went out the window in the late 90s

Those who say it doesn't work has never truly trained to do the techniques properly. all fighting styles are crap until you make it work . not the style but the fighter makes or brakes the style.

BS. Follow Lenny Sly. He's been training Aikido forever. He's modified his training to make it more combat orientated and fully admits how ineffective modern Aikido actually is.

most fighting styles had to adapt to the modern world. thugs these days have no code of honor or morals. So fighting in the old ways won't work . @@Kthomasritchie

I used to think Aikido was fake but gave it a try, went to a few classes, and then tried it with my cousins, man, it does work!

People say it is fake until they have it done to them. One video demonstrated that the instinct was to hold on so the guy did not touch the guy but threw the one that grabbed him . And if you observe in some videos there is a subtle redirection of direction or energy. First a tug in one direction and then throw in the opposite direction.

I'm sure it's nice for competing against someone trained in the same art but in reality this is useless against an attacker who has ANY experience fighting.

Absoloute pre-scripted rubbish. Pressure test either of these people with someone trained in almost any other fighting style, and they'll lose in ten seconds.
