On today's episode of Locked On Stars, we take a look at the lack of offensive production from players like Roope Hintz, Joe Pavelski, Tyler Seguin and Matt Duchene. After game one, Pete DeBoer mentioned they are waiting for some of their scorers to find the scoresheet for over a series now. DeBoer has changed up the lines a few times throughout the postseason to spark things, but the remaining constant has been Wyatt Johnston. Who else can the Stars rely on to give them a boost against a dangerous Avalanche team. In the second segment, Joey asks how the Stars can attack the big trio for Colorado including Nathan MacKinnon, Cale Makar, and Mikko Rantannan who had muti point nights in game one. Maybe it's time Chris Tanev and Esa Lindell are called upon to play more minutes and match up head to head against the top players of the Avs. To wrap up the episode, Joey gives his keys to game two for the Stars. Dallas looks to level the series tonight before heading to Denver for game three on Saturday.

This comes down to Dallas playing 3 periods of hockey just like they did the first!! They were playing on their heels during the second period.

Don’t bet on holding the Avs to a goal or two. They’re AVERAGING 5 goals a game for the playoffs, which is insane. Score early and sustain pressure, stay out of the box, and no turnovers is about the only way the Stars will win.

Great analysis Joey; love your energy and how you find balance with some positives. It was pretty disheartening to see the Stars blew a 3 goal lead, not looking like a Cup contender. They need to either stay out of the penalty box or learn how to kill them without giving up goals. Game should never have gone past 3-1 for Stars. Impressed with Sequins efforts, winning face offs, hits and shots on goal, sadly the shots just didn’t go in. Stankoven and others are due for a goal soon, some great efforts, need to keep up the pressure! Go Stars ⭐️ Go! Let’s show them your true strengths and play like you’re hungry for the next series! As an Avs fan.. here is my unbiased comparisons. Goalie: Stars Top 6: Avs Bottom 6: Stars Defense: Avs (mainly because the Makar/Toews pairing but also because yall are rolling 5D.. which is rough to do) Faceoffs: Stars 100000% (which is a HUGE category to win.. so many more possessions) Special teams: id be fair and call it a tie. Id say it's pretty evenly matched Overall id say it's a pretty even matchup. We have the higher talent on the top end, yall have the depth on the bottom end and a better goalie. And yall can win a faceoff. Whatcha think? Accurate?

I disagree with the bottom 6 as a stars advantage. There goalie isn't playing tall that great either. Faceoffs only advantage I see. Which can be impactful

Yah you nailed it actually. I'd say our 2nd lines are even. Your top line is the line that shines thru and they NEED to show up to win games I feel. Or giorgiev steal a game like he did a couple times in game 1 OT. Your D is way better offensively but not quite as good defensively (not by much though, especially when u take into account the 5 D)

@@michaelamberson8820 makar and toews are arguably the best pair in the league at both ends of the ice. On pure defense, as a whole, and based SOLELY on defense and only defensive ability, Stars win that. BUT... factor in running 5D and the fact that we have the highest scoring blue line, the Avs take it overall.
