When Sr died, the entire sport turned to Dale Jr for the answer to "What's next?" and he answered in a big way, taking on the responsibility of carrying an entire sport on such young shoulders. He had his ups and downs throughout his career, but there isn't a single driver in the HOF that hasn't. It's what he did off the track for the fans and what he continues to do for the fans and what he continues to bring to the sport that solidified his as a first ballot Hall of Fame inductee for sure. Congrats to Dale and his entire team behind him, it's been one hell of a ride for us fans, and I know I couldn't be happier with the news of his selection. Well deserved.

Michigan 1999 Bush series. I made fun of Nascar until that day. Dale Jr won in the #3 AC DELCO Chevy and from that day on I loved Nascar and Jr was my driver. I learned of Dale Sr because of Dale Jr.
