Tony and Dale laugh about re-gaining their mojo by drinking more. And yes, it worked. They also tell the hilarious story of a test session that ended in Dale Jr. doing donuts in the garage area.

The stories are fun as hell, but you wonder what they could have done if they were a bit more mature back then. I feel Junior never gave any more than he had to in the early days and wasted a career.

I remember some team getting the tires on the wrong side on a cup car by accident during a race. That was back in the Winston Cup days. Don't remember which team, but I'm sure they felt just as smart. I'm sure it also happened on purpose too since the right side tires had a softer compound and any advantage was sought.

I used to turn wrenches in the CART circuit back in those days . Testing back then in Homestead could be troublesome because it was still a small town and teams would congregate at that Mutineer bar at intersection going east to the track. Bad things there. Overlapped Jr testing at Milwaukee Mile once. They were testing and we were setting up to the next day about 2000. There were were some groupie girls that got in the fence that weren’t even a drunk man’s last chance qualifiers if you know what I mean. But they surprised him and was very genuine with them, signed some stuff and they left. We laughed about it and then latter in the infield bathroom with my fellow mechanic, Jr pops out of a stall from taking crap and fellow pro mechanic surprises him with a big hello and quickly proceeds to tell Dale Jr before he can wash his hands that his cousin works on the 18 Lamont’s car all star struck. I always remember Dale Jr awkwardly responding, “Is that right?”. Embarrassed me right there that’ my team mate went starry eyed but I’ve been a Jr fan since that day. He’s a real dude

Dear Kelley and DaleJr, I am a huge fan of all things Earnhardt. That said, I am an also a TV WATCHER. The is is a visual medium and as such, I have little interest in just hearing Mke, Junior and their guest finish the conversation. I don't listen to podcasts, I WATCH TV. One dimensional, I know. I also love Watching movies, but never Listening to anyhing besides Music. Love everything Junior and Kelley do, but feel (IMHO) DirtyMo may be missing out for whatever reason. Always a fan, but rarely(if ever), a listener only.
