Ever wondered the full story of how the Doctor's worst enemies were really created? How the Daleks could have destroyed themselves before they even met the Doctor? What is the timeline of the universe from the POV of the Dalek race?
Say Doctor Who to anyone and one of the first things that comes to mind is one word: DALEK!
The monsters have appeared in television, audios, comics, video games, animation and so much more. A story so complicated and conquests so creative that I've created a feature length video which puts their history in order.

Really Wish they kept the original dalek design along with the eye stalk the original design was far more imposing and creepy. Could of had it where the imperial daleks are actually the original colour scheme and the renegades are more of darker metallic colour instead of being painted grey and white. The original design is better as it looks more realistic than the renegade design.

I'm totally uninterested in Dr Who. Yet, this video was compulsive! What a testament to dedication and disipline. How many hours did this take - approximately? Obviously you must have seen many episodes, but surely not all of them?

Didn't the events in The Evil of the Daleks happen after Destiny of the Daleks? If I remember well Evil happens after the Great War which started after The Dalek's Master Plan, this Great War was parallel to their war against the Movellans.

This was an excellent video and I love how you took audios, novels and comics into account to expand the lore even further! However, I'm confused by some of the placements in the timeline. For example, how exactly do you know that Power of the Daleks takes place after Remembrance? Those Daleks have the the 60s design (not the Imperial nor the Renegade design), so shouldn't it take place early on in the timeline? Another example: the placement of Revolution and Out of Time? They both feature the RTD/Time War designs (Revolution has the bronze Daleks and Out of Time has the red and gold Supreme), therefore shouldn't they take place after the Time War?

I believe the dalek designs are no longer placed in specific areas of history. The RTD design may have been used during the war, but were used earlier as they were just more advanced. Power Of The Daleks come after Remembrance as the ship is actually jettisoned from the tardis by the eighth doctor after davros’ second trial, book is called war of the daleks

According to TARDIS Wiki (really good info source on pretty much anything Doctor Who), the novel War of the Daleks serves as a bridge between Remembrance and The Power of the Daleks; it's one of a number of stories that follows on from Remembrance of the Daleks. As far as I can tell, the Dalek Empire of War of the Daleks is unified after the events of Remembrance, and I think the silver Daleks of The Power of the Daleks are back in as the main design. The end of War involves a Dalek factory ship being sent back in time to Vulcan, and seems to set up The Power of the Daleks. Granted, War of the Daleks does heavily alter Dalek canon in significant ways, but I don't think it's a complete retcon - although I myself haven't read it. The Daleks of Out of Time are explicitly stated to be from the Second Dalek War (aka around the time of Frontier in Space and Planet of the Daleks). The 2009 novel Prisoner of the Daleks is set in the war's final days, and it's explained that the grey Daleks of the 70s Dalek stories were swapped out for the bronze Daleks, as the grey Daleks weren't strong enough to succeed in the war any further. This is one of the first instances in Doctor Who, if not the first, to chuck in the idea of the bronze Daleks existing prior to the Time War. As a result, this somewhat explains why Out of Time has a red and gold NewWho Supreme Dalek leading 70s grey Daleks; it seems to be a mid-point in the Daleks shifting from the grey design to the bronze. Finally, I don't think anybody knows where Revolution of the Daleks is in the Dalek Empire's timeline, as it uses bronze Daleks, but makes almost no kind of distinction as to where its bronze Daleks are from in the timeline. However, their specific purpose of responding to Reconnaissance Scout signals suggests they may be from early in the Dalek Empire's timeline, as Recon Scout Daleks are stated in Resolution to have been the first Daleks to ever leave Skaro, thereby placing them very early in the Daleks' timeline. I'm not a fan of bronze Daleks being retroactively added into loads of Dalek eras though, it's cool for the big galactic wars, but aside from that I feel that anything else ruins the bronze design.

Non-serious message marker here: I fear that by making this video you have made yourself a higher priority target for extermination - Those Daleks don't seem like the sort to enjoy their secrets being shared. Then again they would also have to go after your viewers...and everyone else too cause they probably would continue exterminating anyways. Hope the Doctor drops by to sort that one out cause I rather not find out what happens if Daleks come along and make some, from their point of view, "desirable modifications" to a certain troublesome virus.

I never quite liked how Genesis of the Daleks progresses into Hartnell's The Daleks. It always seems like a step back for the Daleks to me. They just don't seem like the same Daleks. It's like as if Davros had a secret batch of Daleks hidden somewhere else on Skaro and were only awaken way into the future from their creation in Genesis.

It's not to do with the bronze casing, which is just another casing, but the Dalek creature inside being "pure" Dalek. Since the ones in "Victory" were essentially Davros clones, the Paradigm Daleks destroyed them. Any bronze Daleks seen alongside Paradigm Daleks after that are all "pure" Daleks. The different casings denote rank.

Your argument flawed on one or two points. For one thing, the daleks arent designed just to eradicate all other life, their primary and most fundemental function os to ensure the survival of their race till the very end of time itself. In a related manner though it is often said the Daleks can only feel hatred, they are actually shown throughout the series to be capable of fear as well, after all they need a self preservation instinct as well as a murder instinct to fulfill both their functions, it is actuallt this trait which has led them, at times to mutate themselves beyond the dalek imperative and try and become something else. Dalek Sec, Dalek Kaan and Rusty for example. Also there was the daleks who tried to isolate "the human factor" in the 4th doctors run. So nearly although all such examples were killed off, there is a slim hope for even the Daleks being redeemed.

@@boblowes darthvaders power and presence the demonstration of there power through the destruction of Alderaan the rebels constantly being on the back foot. The Daleks also do similar things but they just don’t explore it further or it all gets resolved in the end like that dumbass time war shit where the daleks finally get one over the doctor and his entire race but it all gets reversed and the subsequent episodes the daleks are just fodder.

@@stickthesecond5085 But Star Wars also has a much bigger budget than Doctor Who, and isn't made under the same constraints of time. For example - we know the Daleks can enslave whole worlds and largely wipe out and entire populations from as far back as the Dalek Invasion of Earth. But we don't tend to see it, because (a. - it would have been impossible for them to shoot that at the time, and b. - because it's the least interesting bit of the story).

With the change in the Doctor's origin. Wouldn't it be interesting to find out, that a previous incarnation had visited a planet, where he would encounter two Humanoid races. 1) of, Tall, White, Blue Eyed, Blondes, who are Decadent, Aristocrats, who like Hunting and Killing. 2) of, Shorter, Salo skinned, Brown Eyed, Dark Haired, interested in the Sciences, and Mathematics, Teachers and Philosophers, who treat by the others as servants. And, the Doctor, taught the oppressed group how to rebel, fight back, and gain their independence. ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
