I doubt he ever thought he would be a public figure worth billions of dollars when he was only 14 years old. What about all the other kids in the photo? Do you think we should hunt them down too? Were you ever part of something when you were 14 years old, and do you think you should be shamed for it some 65 years into the future? Be real, man.

So if this happened to you how would you feel? Having close family members who are in a terrorist organization and thus being thought of by everyone to also be a part of the terrorist organization. Having a lot of friends who cheat on their spouses and thus having your spouse fear that you will also be a cheater just like your friends. Hanging out with troublemakers who never do their homework and thus being disliked by your teacher because of who your friends are even though you tend to do OK in school and do your homework. Not standing up to speak out against an unpopular political idea with all detractors and thus being considered a part of that political group even though you aren't really a part of it. Going out to the back of the schoolyard to smoke with your friends even though you don't smoke and then getting in trouble when they do just because you are out there. Being a part of a gang of people that commit thefts and being viewed as a thief even if you do not actually go out and commit any crimes yourself. Having a lot of friends who speak out in a prejudiced way and not distancing yourself from their statements so you are thought to be prejudiced as well. Spending a large portion of your day at work with slackers who do not do what the boss asks them to do and then being disliked by your boss because you are friends with the slackers even though you do your work. Being a part of an unpopular religion that advocates violence and thus being viewed as violent yourself even though you personally do not have any violent tendencies or desires. Viewing someone who is part of the school band as a nerd because you think that most people on the school band are nerds even if they aren't and even if that particular individual is not a nerd at all. Being on the football team and being considered a bully and a dumb jock as a result even though you are really a very nice and very smart person and not a bully at all. Viewing a criminal defense lawyer as an evil and dishonest criminal himself because he defends criminals as a living, even if he is just doing his job and has never actually done anything wrong or broken any laws. Viewing someone as dishonest simply because he is a politician and you believe that all politicians are dishonest even if the individual politician isn't bad. Hypocrites are LAME.

Jerry is right. He had no idea what was about to happen. I, as well of the rest of the students at Little Rock Central High School, were taken by our communications teacher, Ms. Dade to the Little Rock Central High School 1957 museum when I was a 14-year-old-freshman not too many years ago. The thing is he says he is glad that we're along way from that but quite frankly, we are not; because responsibility of that kind of behaviour is never taken/they never stand up and say that was racism and it was ugly and wrong and there is no place for that in our world we live in today- I'm sorry. No, the problem is not thinking that there was anything wrong with racism. Being a curious boy is not the same as being a racist boy. The problem is no one is accountable but yet this evil segregation, went on for hundreds of years! All of a sudden they've forgotten that we are supposed to exist and if now we are not shown the respect. Lebron james asks why he hasn't been asked a question regarding this and still he is waiting for an explanation... Lebron, someone who benefits the people's pockets who are demeaning his own people.

That has to be the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard. You’re proposing people retroactively persecute people for actions that were committed 65 years ago? And it wasn’t even illegal. That’s not how the law works, you can’t punish people for things that weren’t crimes then. They’re a relic of a bygone era, leave them alone.
@searchin4oldies

@@henrylivingstone2971 fuck that ,I bet your white ..of course you would have that outlook .Want to solve racism and prejudice get to then root of the problem go back and see what damage all these bigots did .See what they obtained and how racism allowed them to leverage there whiteness into successful brands and entity’s .I’m also suggesting that I’ve seen them go back and prosecute nazis for there wrongdoings ,America needs to acknowledge and deal with its own history .if You are the abuser by the way which I suspect you are then you don’t get to tell the victims how they should proceed or how far retroactively they can go back to prosecute your wrongdoings .
@henrylivingstone2971
@henrylivingstone2971 Жыл бұрын
@@searchin4oldies Nazis get prosecuted but it’s not retroactively. That’s because they’ve escaped prosecution and have been caught, it’s not retroactive punishment. Also, nazis are prosecuted for war crimes which don’t have statutes of limitations. Victims can proceed with whatever legal means they’d like but not all black peoples are victims. Only those subject to direct discrimination. And even in cases like that, the legal avenues to retribution are few to none. You can prosecute someone for what those people in that picture did. And it’s a picture it’s not a feasible account of what happened. Those people despite their bigotry and hate are exercising their good given right to free speech and protest regardless of how wrong they might have been. They have committed no crime to which they can be prosecuted. How am I an abuser? I’m a millennial, that’s not me in that picture, I wasn’t born in the 1960s.
@searchin4oldies
@searchin4oldies Жыл бұрын
@@henrylivingstone2971 the point is not retribution first .the point is accountability and acknowledgement for one’s actions during that time and then putting into perspective how blacks were doomed and Caucasians benefited in every aspect of life from the very thing you want us to forget .Then we can talk about the retribution .Denying the civil rights of a person is a crime beginning in 1964 .Sad that lawmakers and black civil rights leader had to sacrifice blood ,sweat and tears to have such a law due to the very “ideology “ this picture represents .I can only imagine what some of these people in the picture whom are on the frontline ,make no mistake about it .partook in outside this instance .Furthermore ,racism,prejudice ,and discriminatory practices set the black community back a century .I just don’t like the fact that you think it’s not right to go back and investigate all these issues and occurrences which are at the core of the issue .get to the bottom of how some of these people and entity’s leveraged the racist and discriminatory practices back during him crow and pre/post slavery to be in positions of power .Those scars created from that time and the continued systematic inequality and racism that continues to this very day needs to be rooted out .If you went to a therapist they would say the fist step towards healing is admitting you have a issue .The next step is to deal with the traumatic past and there after comes healing further down the line .This country and caucasian people want black and native people to skip straight to healing and leave the past in the past ..it’s not how it works .Your ancestors and race were the perpetrators so you don’t have a say in how the victims or ancestors of those affected conduct there healing and attempts at seeking justice .You have your opinion and it’s cool for you to voice it .I do disagree respectfully .There should be a Investigation into these situations to get a “feasible” account of what happened that day ,if they ever partook in any other discrimination and how there families benefited from the Jim Crow laws and all the racial inequality.

@@searchin4oldies You just admitted that retribution is still the central point of your entire argument. It’s literally step two of your two step plan. “Denying civil rights following 1964” is a crime….for businesses and government agencies not for private citizens. Private citizens no matter how wrong they might have been are free to reserve their prejudices. They’re allowed to feel how they want to.
