As a 71 year old faithful Catholic woman I have seen a huge increase in my love for Jesus and the Bible due the faithfulness of Dallas Jenkins. You guys hit a nerve. I am crying listening to your hearts, Dallas and you guys. As a pastor, I so resonated with your heart of “Lord, don’t let me screw this up.” Praying for all of you/us to stand firm in brokenness to the end.

When I introduce The Chosen to my friends I always like to underline the fact that there are so many people from different worldviews coming together to enjoy the show and be impacted by it. Examples such as Dallas Jenkins (director) being evangelical, Jonathan Roumie (Jesus) being Catholic, George Xanthis (John) being Greek Orthodox, Luke Dimyan (Judas) being Coptic Orthodox; plus they have Jason Sobel (consultant) being Messianic Jewish rabbi, and even Angel Studios (studios and distribution) being LDS. Plus, of course, the bunch of cast and crew that will surely be agnostic or atheist. No faith based project has ever brought so many different people together to sit at Jesus's table before The Chosen. We usually try to be cautious when claiming that some given thing is a work of the Spirit, but oh my... if this isn't it, I don't know what else could be! Dallas mentions people reading their Bible more since watching The Chosen. On Jan 1st, Father Mike Schmiz and Ascension Press started the “Bible in a Year” podcast. So many Catholics who had seen “The Chosen”, began listening to this Bible podcast, it became one of the top podcasts. There’s a lot of overlap between the Catholics who watch “The Chosen” and those who are listening to the Bible in a Year podcast, where if someone references “A Chosen” scene in a post on the “Bible in a Year” Facebook page, usually the other group members know what you’re talking about. For a lot of Catholics, the two things are a blessing, bringing them closer to Jesus.

I’m also Catholic, but I’ve had friends of many different faiths & attended their services throughout the years. To me, following different Christ based religions/faiths, is no different than having different skin/hair colors. We all believe in God/Jesus/Spirit. That’s one of the fascinating things about ‘The Chosen’, the 12 disciples & other followers of Jesus are so different from each other, but their core faith is in Jesus. I went to Israel as well... but I had a Messianic Jew as a guide. It completely changed everything!! She would say, "This is the tourist attraction....let me take you to the Messianic place." Beyond my understanding of Jesus and the Bible your comments and explanations added awe to myself experiencing our Lord. I am a mentally disabled as the doctors per se diagnosed me. But after really watching Grafted 24/7, which means all my waking time, except working, I am healed! I had this challenge not to take my pills, since maybe 3 weeks, and I am totally fine. Dallas' comment about the Passion of the Christ and the predictions that there would be anti-Semitic backlash expresses my own puzzlement at the time. I can only speak for my own experience, but my experience growing up in evangelical Christianity taught me to feel a deep affinity and affection for the Jewish people. The idea of a Christian being anti-Jewish genuinely shocked me that someone could come to that conclusion. How could I not love my Lord's people? How could I feel anything but gratitude and affection for Jews? I really love The Chosen, and I love what you guys at Grafted do.

What impresses me is the thought and intention behind each episode of The Chosen.

I truly have enjoyed your shows I’ve seen or heard. Keep it up. I was pleased to hear in this episode a mention of how much our unity is the unity of spirit. At least I hope I heard it right. As one of the leaders of our Prayer Team, I was asked a couple of years ago to begin prayer walking our church facility with a prayer list from our senior leadership for our group of about 1300 people in Columbia, SC. Second on the list was “Surrender to Holy Spirit” and down the list was “Unity”. Early in my walks I began hearing Holy Spirit directing me that our increased surrender would lead to real unity; unity in Him, not it agreement on type of music or color of chairs or even in who our leadership brings on staff. I feel we just must continue encouraging our people to acknowledge and trust His voice; the voice and wisdom of our loving God. Thanks again for you insightful ministry. 👍
