If you go back to Mead, check out Mom and Pop's clock shop, on the corner to the SW of the Meade Museum, it was in the picture as you panned the street as you stepped out of the Meade Museum doorway. The clock store is epic, the lady who owns it is so interesting and knows thousands of details about each clock hanging in her business. Most of them are very old clocks. She spends the time repairing and fixing these clocks. On Saturdays she's open and will set most of the clocks to chime all day long. Fun to walk in when all the clocks are "talking" and humming.

The museum was very nice, especially for a small town. I really liked the map. The school reminded me of a church. We drove through Coffeyville day before yesterday. I guess I should have paid more attention to my surroundings as we drove through!

@@TravelwithaWiseguy That’s sort of a scary thought. I’m from Hatfield-McCoy country & they do a reunion but no re-enactment (at least so far). It took over a hundred years to get to the point that it was safe for a reunion. Even today people have very fixed positions on the matter.

interesting. Been decades but when I was a kid, you entered through the front door of the house, then down the tunnel to the museum. Otherwise, hasn’t changed much at all.
