I did not plan on swapping out the air filters at first but after asking around & looking into it further, I decided to go ahead and do it for the performance & financial feasibility of maintaining the car. I was expecting it to be difficult which was a reason why I was not sure about changing them at first but turns out this is a very simple/easy DIY, saves money & is worth it in terms of quality which this video validates! What I was not expecting to find was the damaged part on a brand new AMG....

Hey dude, nice vid. I was ASE mater auto tech and engine builder for 9 yrs and worked for several dealerships. Ive got a c63s coupe as well. Just thought I'd give you a heads up that k&n filters are decent and they have higher air flow but at the cost of reducing their filtering capacity. They let larger particles into your engine because their filter material is more porous and that can cause a lot of problems for your motor. I have had several cars come in for repairs and rebuilds that sucked in dirt and particles that got into the motor due to K&n filters and they're not covers under warranty. It's not that you can't use the K&n filter but it depends on where you live in the conditions of which you drive under. If you live somewhere where there are a lot of dusty roads or paths you're bound to suck something up into your motor and you're not going to be happy with the outcome. On the other hand if you're driving mostly on city or urban streets with well-paved roads and no loose gravel bits you probably be ok. Juts wanted to If you a heads up since I've had to repair a lot of cars due to these filters.

Thanks for the insight !! I appreciate it and definitely value it ! I’m pretty confident I’ll be okay since where I live here in GA is pretty good road wise, we have a lot of nice asphalt paved back roads & high ways not much dust. I’m more concerned of pot holes 😂 Only thing I’m really concerned about is when pollen season comes. Georgia is a jungle and when spring really hits we get thick layers of pollen I will definitely check the filters again after pollen season to see what’s happened. But since this isn’t a daily & it a weekend / leisure car for me it will be less in the elements than that of a daily driver !

@@cexy63s Yeah and those conditions you should be okay. During the pollen season you should probably be okay too because the oil on the filter will catch the pollen. You only have to really worry on dirt roads that have a ton of dust and loose gravel. I live in California and we have a bunch of roads like that. Nice car I was happy to meet another C63 owner. Don’t forget to change the 2nd cabin air filter underneath the glove box on the inside! I guess there’s 2 cabin air filters for the c63s.

do you really need to replace the cabinet air filter? My car hasn't changed the filter since we bought the car in May last year. Same car.

You should change it every year or service point. If you stick with the OEM you are left with buying a new one every time & adding to waste/pollution when you throw it away. With the re-usable k&n air filters you can wash it & reuse it. Over the life of a car you may change that filter 7/8 times the replacement pays for itself by the 2nd maintenance of the filter.

In the future you may want to upgrade to MST full intake.. You will get 16 horse. AWE touring exhaust since your there. You always have to things checked over.

Thanks for the insight on some mods! Once I surpass the warranty I will start looking into mods more. I know I want a tune to 600HP the exhaust I am not so crazy about the stock is already amazing and I am not a fan of obnoxiously loud exhausts.

Check out Eurocharged ECU. You should be able to get that to 600 easily.

@@cexy63s The Touring exhaust is not loud it's tuned. It will sound more like AMG gt.

Do you ever find your suspension too stiff for daily use?

Im glad you commented this, I can bring up so many points but to answer your question, I do not think its stiff here is why..... 1) I don't daily it so I don't really think about it, this is my weekend, have fun & leisure car. 2) I went into to owning his car expecting it to have a stiff suspension because of the tire set up they are (low profile tires) that right there just ends any & all comfort possibilities lol & also this is a sport focus car so to expect it to be a good daily I think is a stretch. I know many call it as one but they are saying that from a sports car perspective not a full on confirm & reliability stand point. 3) I do think it is a stiff suspension though but again I believe its mainly because of the type of tires that are on it. If I were to go to smaller rims and fit thicker tires on it. The car would definitely not be as stiff of a ride. The only other option would be to do thicker tires & go with a softer suspension but that goes totally against what the C63s is meant to be.

I don’t think they have any for the C63s & I had spoke to an engine builder & he recommended K&n filters out of all the others out there. & the benefit of the oiled filter is that it helps catch more since it allows more air in where as the dry filters would loose that aspect.

I agree I can only image what they will try to pull with EV cars. Let’s hope we don’t get another apple scandal where they are only made to last a few years before you need to “upgrade” 🥴
