Then at the Etihad it should have been 2-0 minimum at half time. Goals change games and if the decisions been correctly given across each leg City would at worst been 3-2 up on aggregate at half time at the Etihad. So if the atmosphere did help it was to intimidate the officials more than the City players at Anfield I think we can all agree. Let’s not forget that out of the 180 minutes played over the two legs, City dominated 150 of them.

He didn’t even get a yellow probably because it was virtually the first kick of the game. His second indiscretion should have warranted the red though and the ref turned a blind eye.
