I shipped them before the show because of the books but the show made me ship them HARD af, they became my OTP OF ALL OTPS because of the show!

Before I decided to watch the show I knew a little bit about it and the characters and I thought Stefan and Elena would end up together from what I heard so I tried hard the like them in episode one but before Damon was even shown they were a boring pair to me and I didn’t like them and once Damon and Elena had their first scene together I rooted for them to be endgame from that point on

I honestly think she didn't really believe that she just thought it would be at that time. If that was the case she wouldn't of said I can't think about always in 3x22. stelena fans always used that as their reason they were endgame even when it was proven stelena was over and Damon was her real soulmate and true love. Delena was endgame IMHO from day one idgaf what haters said. Look at their buildup and journey, they were built up so slowly from dislike to friendship to understanding and connection on a deeper level to saving to each other and getting to know one another good and bad, flaws and all, then feelings developed and she tried to fight it but they grew so much that when she turned into a vampire she couldn't ignore them ANYMORE. There's a reason her feelings for Damon were magnified but her feelings for Stefan weren't. If it was really ALWAYS and she'd love him & be with him forever those feelings would've magnified. Their fans just can't face that it wasn't gonna be stelena the entire series, I mean it's a show about a love triangle, both ships had to happen otherwise it's pointless but honestly delena had so much more in common, had such a deep and emotional connection, their each other's soulmate. They didn't just meet one day and fall in love unlike stelena. They didn't even really get to know each other, spending a night talking isn't getting to know each other!! Elena learned everything about Damon the good and bad and she still fell in love with him and when she didn't remember she fell in love with him all over again, if that's not TRUE LOVE idk what is tbh!!

That's just it, Damon isn't bad. He's done bad things but who hasn't? At least he isn't self-righteous like 'saint Stefan' 🙄. He's been betrayed over and over and been through Hell. Once you get through the wall he's built, he is very sweet, devoted and loyal. His love is real and never dies.
