i agree but i still think elena loved stefan even if it wasn’t as strong as her love with damon. Stefan and Elenas relationship could’ve lasted if elena didn’t change sm and turned into a vampire. I ship Delena because it was fun and made elena feel alive again after turning but i deffo think Stefan deserves better.

Angel Lutz true! It’s kind of sad that Damon had to rely on Elena for happiness which sometimes made their relationship a bit toxic.

But if u were truly watching, she always had feelings for Damon. It was very obvious! She was attracted to him since the day she met him. Rewatch 1×3 too. Obvious!

I'm a fan but it's more that it is relatable. I come back because they remind me of my first love, my first marriage. ❤ I'm blessed to have remarried to a wonderful man that I love, they are pretty different but both will always be special to me. Delena weren't a good example of a healthy couple necessarily....at least not most times (until the end) but of course also not a real couple. Lol 😅

It's weird and funny. And cringe. Lol I seriously was wondering what the writers were thinking.....idk if it's in the novel like that but dang.

No....when I was young I thought the show was pretty lame. Lol My mom liked it. In my mid 20s I loved Delena because they remind me of my first love and first marriage. Then as I have got older I realize both are not good for a realistic long term goal....unhealthy to have consuming love and unhealthy to have the kind with Stephan (and he's always been ick IMO). I'm remarried and happily so, but I'll always love the first also and both men know about that and have respected it. Thing is as you mature you hopefully learn that you can't have a healthy lasting relationship with the level of intensity that Damon and Elena had ....and be in a healthy relationship. You will legit destroy one another as people, that's part of the issue with the "consuming" part. It comes off as steamy and all that...if my ex truly needed my help somehow, or I his...I feel confident we would help one another. Even though we had to cut ties because friendship legit doesn't work...and we tried but it was a lie...too much chemistry, but I had already remarried years after I thought he was dead. It was like losing him all over again. But it was the right choice. Our relationship was also unstable because we wanted to live in our own bubble too much...we started to lose ourselves and to lose motivation for other good things in life. Our focus was too much at one another...which can't be healthy. In my current marriage we are very happy but we aren't so consumed by one another that we can't make progress in healthy ways...

If you remove all of the very unhealthy dynamic...sure. Lol 🤣 I had a love like that. The whole consuming dangerous thing is not ok....it doesn't work in the long term no matter how hard you try it's not what's good for you. So either you force it and then end up hurting the one you love and yourself perpetually because you can't cope with life when you have that level of intensity....or you part ways. 😢 With maturity perhaps people in that situation can overcome it and temper out ...but I have yet to see it done. I've always loved love and I wanted that so badly, and tried to help others too....only to find out it's not a good thing. Lol

The way you put that is wonderful and not exactly defining Damon types only. 😂 You can find what you described without finding someone who's anything like the character Damon. It's not that rare, you just also have to be willing to be honorable and unselfish. Elena was loved by Damon also for those qualities ....

there were scenes like that in season 5, and flashbacks in season 6 too

I agree. ❤ The end felt very cheap to me in regard to that honestly. Even their time as vampires first falling in love felt very rushed, lots of rolling in the sheets but not enough of the rest.
