Damping a old Subwoofer

A slideshow on how to dampen a subwoofer cabinet.
Materials List:
-Wood for braces
-Wood glue and Super Glue gel
-4-5 Vinyl floor tiles, Liquid Nails Glue
1.5 inch self adhesive acoustic foam www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07...
-Insulation or Poly-fil

Different materials help dampen different frequencies. This 1/2" MDF box really resonates a lot with this sub. Adding the vinyl and acoustic foam helps further deaden the cabinet. A speaker's job is to reproduce music, not add to it! Hope this helps.

Yes, the slot port was original to the sub.

I THINK the sub doesent go that high Hz to make the cabinet wall resonate🤔

Sub cabinet resonances can happen between 50-100hz. Most modern subs now are heavily braced for that reason. The most audible difference from this project was from plugging the slot port. That definitely tightened up the bass.
