Yeah it makes absolutely no sense to leave UCONN for any other program. UCONN has the best facilities and resources. UCONN Men and Women are a combine 17-1 in Championship games. That's Historically insane. They're the MECCA of college basketball.

Did he just say UK's facilites are "not even close to Uconns". That just seem like an patently bold lie. Doesnt Uconn play 1/2 their games in some hockey arena in Hartford and the other half in Gampel....not exactly a mecca? UK's practice facilty was state of the art when it opened in 2007 and probably needs it's 20 yr facelift, but even the Joe Craft Center wouldnt be classified as "not even close" when compared to the very best NBA practice facilities. Seth was UK's or should I say Cal's biggest partisan but now that Cal's filed for a divorce he's acting as his unhinged lawyer!

@@TurboFist0 oh I know that for sure having lived in CT for 7 years and growing up in MA only 35 miles from Hartford. Plus I started at Northeastern the same year Calhoun did. I am still a huge fan of his and didn’t stop loving UConn. I think the difference in there isn’t much else to root for in KY vs all the other sports around CT.

Kentucky is not a challenge. Calipari is just a lousy coach and recruits players who don't even want to play college basketball and are only there because of the one and done rule. Get a coach like Bryce Drew and he'll recruit the right players, a mix of McDonald's All Americans and all-state players who are focused on winning college championships and getting their degrees.

Hurley already said he is not interested in KY. And UConn is paying him well. He is building a better program at UConn vs. at KY he would be trying to resurrect one. UK going to at least bid up Hurley's salary to the point that they bankrupt the uconn athletic department. They'll have to get loan or raid the endowment to pay him. UConn is already in a -$50M deficit so UK can leverage that SEC FB contract money to either poach Hurley or at least unsettle the program financially so they cant afford the fancy charter flights or the extra analytics guy or whatever!

College basketball is a diluted product. Look at the other #1 seeds this year. Houston couldn't shoot and didn't have a player above 6'7", Purdue was unathletic and opportunistic, North Carolina was mediocre and overrated by people who wanted to believe RJ Davis and Bacot were any good. Until the NCAA changes its rules and forces players to stay at least three years, this trend will continue.

We have a 22,000 seat arena, and better facilities than UConn by far. And 8 titles, highest winning percentage, most wins, most trips to NCAA tourney, on and on. We will pay $10 million to whoever takes it. Not Scott Drew. And true, Hurley won't fit Kentucky culture. He would be throwing an F bomb in the first presser and they would run him out of three room.
