@@12kaka03 yes and the other half would come under the category of players who had been written off and have been playing their best football, which Ten Hag deserves massive credit for. As for saying Mainoo is overrated I haven’t seen any evidence that he doesn’t deserve the hype, an 18 year old coming into the team, being by far the best player, winning a game single handedly, and not being phased by playing at St. James park, Goodison and Anfield deserves to be praised. Ten Hag deserves credit for giving him that level of confidence

There’s one thing about managers for example Pep Guardiola or Carlo Ancelotti that nobody talks about which is their development on players and the role of Erik ten Hag in Kobbie Mainoo’s emergence at Manchester United this season isn’t really being spoken about enough. Finding the right balance in midfield has been one of the biggest issues that Manchester United have had as whether it’s Casemiro’s decline, Mason Mount not fitting in or Sofyan Amrabat being a massive liability in the team, their midfield was getting exposed a lot in games and one may wonder what would’ve happened to them had Mainoo been fit to start the season. After an excellent preseason, it was obvious that ten Hag was ready to give him a significant role in the team before picking up an injury against Real Madrid that ruled him out for 4 months and then after he came back, he made his first premier league start against Everton he had an excellent performance and since then he hasn’t looked back. Right now at Manchester United he’s one of the first names on the team sheet and Erik ten Hag simply cannot drop the kid he’s been that good and he offers them composure and something different in their midfield which are things that they didn’t have before. Not only is he excelling at his club, at the age of 18, he skipped the England U21 team and got called up to their first team. Keep in mind that even Jude Bellingham played for their U21 team 4 times before being a mainstay in the England squad. His first start against Belgium he got MOTM and while England’s team is a topic of debate, Gareth Southgate could consider starting him at the EUROs this summer that’s how good he’s been. With the amount of money that was invested in their midfield it’s clear that Kobbie Mainoo provides a spark and Erik ten Hag saw that in him and now he’s one of their go to guys currently. As much as we love to slander Manchester United, they have a talented baller in their ranks who’ll be a superstar for the years to come.

Someone has to be the 3rd and 4th and 5th and 6th choice CM/CDM. Loan deal which hasn't worked but it's low risk. He will go back to Florence come the end of the season. P.s Hard for anyone coming in to Utd right now and hit the ground the running. They would do well to offer Johnny Evans a 12mth deal as he is one player who gets it!

I think the Manchester City and Real Madrid game will be very tough it’s a 50/50 game even if people are backing City to win or Madrid to get revenge from last season. We expect Man City to dominate possession and Real Madrid to sit back hit on the counter attack and wait to take their chances going forward. Both teams have a lot of strengths individual brilliance and a lot of talented players, but also have their weaknesses that have been exploited and gotten away with it in some sense. In the 2 legs against RB Leipzig, Real Madrid were fortunate to even beat them because overall they didn’t play well and Leipzig created a lot of chances against them and that’s what Manchester City and a team of that opposition with so many quality players they can punish them if they’re not careful. On the other hand, Man City are a bit vulnerable in a sense that a couple of weeks ago, they were fortunate to come away with a point at Anfield because Liverpool outplayed them and their defense has shown moments of cracks this season for example in December Aston Villa would’ve beaten them by more than a goal as they were so much better than them. I genuinely think that this game will be decided off of moments of individual brilliance Pep and Ancelotti know that in a tactical battle there’s no room for error and whether it’s Erling Haaland Kevin De Bruyne or Phil Foden at Manchester City or Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior at Real Madrid, in champions league football especially in a 50/50 game, you expect one of these individuals to shine the brightest in these type of matches and that’s what’s going to decide Real Madrid vs Manchester City in my opinions

ETH definitely deserves credit for nurturing young talent. He did it at Ajax and he's clearly doing it at United through the academy and bringing in younger players to the first team. You can scoff at his tactics this season, the in-game management, the post-match pressers, etc., but he deserves his flowers for giving time to the youth, especially during a difficult season with on- and off-field issues. Hojlund, Garnacho, Mainoo, even Forson and Kambwala, hopefully Amad some more, etc. Assuming he stays next season, I can see Amass or another youth player making their way into the first team. He's amazing at developing youth players but this panel (most notably Stevie) hates ETH/United so no credit will ever be given.

Also, funny how they forget that for the first 2/3 seasons, their beloved Klopp and Liverpool were all over the place and far from being challengers. It took time, patience and growing pains for Klopp to finally build a team that could challenge for titles.

The way Nicol talks about Liverpool under Klopp you’d think they’d have more than 1 league title. But they don’t.

Well that is more down to being up against a City side with 115 Financial Fair Play breaches and the PGMOL working for their owners, than any lack of ability from Klopp. Also in Europe being up against a Real Madrid side that have won the competition 5 times in the last 10 years.

Good job Kate, Stevie is lying lol he def said Xabi should leave Leverkusen weeks ago and he is still saying it in this show. So for him to deny he said it before when he is STILL SAYING IT NOW... makes no sense.

Of course, what we don't know is if he was ever actually offered the job, and also if he's telling the truth now. He probably is, but people always say stuff exactly like this right before they do the exact opposite. The problem for Alonso is it's an opportunity he'll only be offered once - when it falls apart at Leverkusen he can't decide he wants the Liverpool job down the road, the door is closed. It's not like Stevie said where things might not mesh, it's that you're simply not going to be offered it again. It's no guarantee it works out for him at Leverkusen, next season all the clubs in Germany are going to build, and they might become very anonymous. How about an outside the box option? Roger Schmidt.

Real still have a great chance against City as City have a lot of key injuries too. Amorim for Liverpool. Harvey Elliott is further along in his development & more impressive than Mainoo imo. He looks good but he's been around 5 minutes & is so overrated (through no fault of his own) it's unreal.

This tells you how Stevie just always wants to be right instead of being a pundit. Mainoo was injured in preseason that’s why ETH brought Amrabat in on loan dummy. Give the man some credit

I'd love Martinez (assuming he can stay fit) or Dalot to be captain tbh. Mainoo seems a bit too reserved for it, kinda like a Shaw or Varane in that sense.
