No trials are from God.....You say that you have kids, so as a loving parent, would you deliberately inflict a painful sickness onto your own children so that they will learn something??!! Satan inflicts those things on us. Now, with bad theology, as has been taught, we may believe that our "loving" Father has done this to us, so that we can learn thus we dont fight it. Jesus came to undo the works of satan and gave us the authority to use his name and fight the devil. So, in a trial we can thank God that he will make it turn out for our good, that we have authority over the sickness, and that what the devil meant for our harm God will turn to our good. Our trial may last a few days, or a few months or even some years BUT, we WILL have victory. If we believe the trial is from God and never fight then it will last a lifetime! Denying your self and taking up your cross, is basically denying yourself, putting others first, before our own wants, wishes, and feelings, and taking up your cross is to do what Jesus did on his cross, dying to self. When you, as a parent that loves thier children, then you will put their needs and happiness before your own, for your children, you have died to your self.........We are supposed to do that for all humanity....As Jesus did.

I think that comparing us givig our kids an illness is not a correct comparison to what God does. God sees us in an eternal sense. If my child either due to his small age or out of his ignorance is doing something dangerous like putting his hand on a hot stove, I'd have to slap his hand out of the way. They might not understand why I did this. If they were stubbornly refusing to listen to what I am asking them to do, I'd have to take measures and give a consequence. Of course we love our kids, but God knows better what is best for their salvation. If God has to save our soul and has tried talking to us numerous times but our hearts are hard, He might not pity our bodies because perhaps otherwise we would go to hell out of dependance on ourselves and people all our lives.

Taking up the cross means suffering in some way. Yes, some trials are from God, because He loves us. Jesus wouldn't say to deny ourselves and take up our cross if it was only up to Him to do it. We have to walk in His footsteps. My question is how to discern when to pray for healing and when to accept that this is part of Gods plan to save me.

@@kristinad8852 I have to disagree...God does not come to kill, steal, and destroy, tho God will use for good, the things that satan brings into our life to try and destroy us. No where in the bible does it say that God will bring harm onto us but it does say that he will turn all things for our good. Watch the beginning of this video again where Dan is speaking about Job. He does explain it well, or look up some of his other videos where he deals with this. Also the bible says that all his promises are "yes and amen", no where does it says "not yet". How ever I do think that someones miracle may, sometimes, be dependent on other factors, like them repenting or forgiving, or a spouse doing the actual praying...who knows, but I would still pray for them regardless......Whats the worst that could happen?....They dont get healed...since when did our embarrassment ever come into it?!! Yes I do agree that taking up your cross means some sort of suffering, but only in as far as dying to ones self is hard, very hard. Im afraid we are going to have to disagree on this....I am going to stick with Dan on this and, judging by the fruits of his life, I think he is living very close to being Christlike and that is something that I want in my life.

@@stevel3678 I think it's easier to accept difficult circumstances when we know that God in His wisdom allowed it to happen. Yes, the devil may have caused it, but ultimately God has all the power, He sees all things. He can by just one word of His change the circumstances and even bring back the dead. Sometimes no matter how hard you pray for a circumstance to change, or like in my situation 12 years ago, I was begging God for a dear christian friend (he was only 22 at the time) in a coma. But in Gods ultimate plan, this persons time on earth has come to an end.
