As the grandson of four German occupation survivors, twice a few decades apart, I seem to need to voice my dissent to anyone trying to silence dissent. People who voice dissent are good and not bad. Like Voltaire I would like to stand up for anyone's right to be wrong. The two state solution isn't centuries old yet. It's a good question though to be asking what next, and then what about the Arab Israelis today? How are they been treated within their own state in the sense of what structural improvement has been going on for them for example? It's a good idea to view that first in order to answer the question what next for the people of Judea and Samaria or indeed the West Bank

You are compassionately correct about what they are doing to innocents. And the fact that Hamas in Gaza uses innocents as “shields” shows a worse disregard-I say worse bc it is to their own people. Israel seems to love the Palestinians more-if love is demonstrated through action-bc the IDF warns the guys in Palestinians, when they are going to be attacking and encourages them to leave. Then, when they try to leave, Hamas forbids them to leave-worse, kills them themselves if they try to leave!

Mika, You & Chris Christie were both right on the subject of abortion in CA & NJ. CA allows abortion to the pt of viability at about 21 to 22 wks. They vote this year to codify a woman's right to choose. They're not sure about what the wording should be & can't explain what the wording they've placed on the ballot even means. They INTEND the wording to codify what's already on the State constitution, but it could be that people will want to follow suit with NJ, which is up to the 9th month. If there are questions on how late in gestation pregnancy can be terminated, they'll lv to the courts to decide.

According to Barak, Netanyahu's approach was part of a broader strategy to maintain the status quo and to sidestep the creation of a two-state solution at any cost. This tactic, Barak implies, began during Netanyahu's first term in the nineties and persisted during his subsequent terms starting in 2009.

America’s founders were smart, and understood the issues with democracy, which is why they opted for a constitutional federal republic. Israel for example has a parliamentary democracy, which is much inferior to the American system. But it, unlike America, is a democracy.
