The story of biblical Gethsemane makes this performance heart wrenching for me. If you don’t know it, you should. His performance is brilliant. But, that’s our Dan. He’s extraordinary and a gift. Pray for Brazil as it’s being taken over by communism. ❤

I was so touched to watch your reaction to Dan's Gethsemane. Your respect and admiration for his performances is so appreciated. I, too, am speechless every time after I watch him perform this song and have to sit quietly for a little while. Dan is our treasure for this time in musical history. I completely agree with your comments. Dan is in a class by himself, with vocal skills that are off the charts. And, when it comes to performing, he is amazing, too. Thanks for your jaw-dropping review. We all feel the same. I know you have done many reactions to Dan but I do hope to see more. If you want to see him perform another song of the same caliber as this one, try his cover of Manowar's Battle Hymn. It will leave you once again in awe of Dan's incredible abilities. That's quite an experience, isn't it? Broadway Dan. What a masterful and heart wrenching performance. Great reaction! (It's Geth SEM a nee, by the way.) Yes, he's amazing and can do it all: the acting is superlative, the voice is strong and beautiful, the singing is world class. That phrase near the end, "Nail me to your CROSS and break me" shatters me every time. I often introduce people to Dan through The Music of the Night, since so many people are familiar with Phantom. I think this one is almost too much to take in on one viewing. Thanks so much for this reaction! I could tell how shocked you were - in the best way. See you next time!

This would have to be the best rendition of Gethsemane (pro: Geth-sem-en-ee) I have ever heard, and I have seen 4 others do it. This was flawless! At that last scene he sang on his knees his eyes were definitely welled up with tears, very emotional!

This is my fave song, and I have heard maybe a hundred versions, from Ian Gillan to the Iron Chef Chair Takeshi Kaga, to Kermit the Frog. There is NO ONE who combines technical expertise with the total Passion of Dan Vasc. Easily my favorite version of my favorite song.
