@@pathofseekingknowledge9813 Mac mini is great if you already have a keyboard mouse monitor and use other products in apple’s ecosystem. The user experience is good and it already comes with Mac OS, as well as apple’s version of word excel and PowerPoint that are easily convertible to their Microsoft counterparts when you need to export/share. Also they’re way simpler/less bloated, so it doesn’t slow down like Word Excel and PPT do, in my experience.

@@DengueBurgerthe reason isnt that the hardware is too weak, it is just apple being uncooperative. They wont allow you to use windows on mac and even if you get it working they wouldnt let you use drivers. On top of that, macos straight up doesnt support or has weak support for every game. Apple for some reason doesnt give steam the necessary access to develop a proton version for mac, like how there is one for linux

i bought the intel macbook pro with the 5500 radeon 8GB graphics card and i was running pcsx2 at 1440p and it would stutter and it would render my 10-20 second videos in 1-2min i bought the new mac mini with the m2 pro chip the basic specs and it ran pcsx2 at 5k with no hiccups and the same 10-20 second videos with a lot more complicated transitions it rendered them in 4 seconds 💀 (i hooked it up to a tv with HDMI and got a cheap wired keyboard for free and a cheap bluetooth mouse for $40 at amazon) i would highly recommend the mac mini to anyone looking to upgrade from a intel version of mac! (the macbook pro with the intel chip was $1100 USD and the mac mini with the m2 pro chip you could get one open box at $1160$ so i’d say invest your money wisely and go with the mac mini whichever one you could afford it is gonna be better than the intel macbook pros)

i keep at my opinnion. apple is not ment for gaming, you have to make consessions. i love the mac for video editting, graphic design, and for the fact it does not get slow after each update unlike these crappy windows based pc's, wich store way too many useless montoring file in the background, and each update there are more added. this has a value, and should be praised by mac owners, not lame gaming specs.

Good to see technical it’s possible and this resident evil thing is cool… but in the end there are not really a variety in games since years on Mac OS. My answer to the question is no. It’s not good for gaming because there are no games 😅

1 year later still absolutely no games optimized for the M-series chips. Although I have been having alot of fun with Emulating old consoles and the hardware handles it well. Emulation community is strong for the MacOs

The Mac mini can do a lot of different things including casual gaming. If you want a gaming beast you’re not only looking at the wrong device, your budget is also too low. You can play much more intensive games via streaming services like Xbox cloud of course

Yes. I have a Mac Mini M2 Pro and I stream through OBS, just make sure whatever capture card you use is compatible with macOS - I use elgato HD60S+

It can’t boot external windows. You use parallels for that. Then you can play more games.

Yes you CAN use parallels but costs a yearly fee as well as purchasing a windows key to use it so you have to factor in if it’s worth it, personally kind of regret my m2 mini purchase

2023 and they sell you a 8GB of ram and 256GB of storage ... ( the SSDs been soldered since 2016 and they also overcharge 3x -4x the price per Terabyte ( @ Apple 2TB costs 800$ while on amazon any 2TB SSD like Samsung or Sabrent or Seagate etc go for 200$ . Apple Demons ... ☠️☠️☠️

The 8GB are enough for quite some task and you can easily attach fast storage via USB-C.

@@codenamegrs9278 oh my 5700 XT died. Now I'm waiting for the GPU prices to come down. How much is a decent GPU today? 5700 XT/2070 were 400-550 usd back then. 4070 is like 800 usd in my country now. Just accept it, custom builds are more expensive. It's custom, it performs better (past a price point, 600usd PC are heaping trash) therefore it's more expensive, nothing wrong with that. I have a Linux server and several builds here. Apple is the cheaper option and better option for 600. You have to pay me to use a 600usd PC lol, those are trash. Again pass me a build that matches this thing. Brand new with warranty. Forgot to add, with 2 Thunderbolt 4 ports. You're still using SSD failure scare, it's obvious that you are a new builder lol. That's a 2013 thing. I have SSDs from 2014, they don't fail unless you are stupid.

@@bassyey bro i'm 31 years old and been building PC s with my dad since 1997... 2ndly you might wanna check out Louis Rossmans channel . he runs a repair shop in New York and he has lots of videos especially with Mac problems . i've seen a relatively recent one about one tiny capacitor or some component that goes bad and then the current overflows to the SSD cracking the Storage chip wide open ....

There are benchmarks using SotTR here on KZfaq. Just search them. As far as I remember some configurations achieved 70fps and more.

i hate having to own both a pc and a mac, Gaming just never worked very well on mac’s if only apple and game developers can work together to make the mac also great for gaming and all steam games work great on mac i would only ever own a mac.
