I'm still watching, but about "Advice" I didn't mean that the choreo uses walk out, just that in this section he also leans in the opposite direction of the step lol Finished watching, great points! Yes, vibration definitely makes more sense for Famous. Your love of dance also really shines through! Agree so much on Move. I think that this is the reason the cover Twice's Momo did at an award show back then was so highly acclaimed, she used her own background instead of dancing it similar to Taemin.

Taemin repeats this to others many times so that they don't imitate him and do what he did. He prefers that they do it in their own style.

I watched this over a few days when I could, it was really so fun to hear your enthusiasm and all the information you're so excited to pass along that you have learned over time and the things that are really important to you in terms of dance education and things people should really know and learn about. The only thing I really have my own personal gained experience in is music, since I'm a musician and not a dancer (I just love watching dance so much) and it's always interesting to me to hear what dancers are thinking about when they use (what to me in my experience) are music related terminology, like timbre, dynamics, etc. The only thing I have any feedback on other than just me enjoying it was the discussion of syncopation - your sung example was a great example of a subdivided beat, and those divisions of the beat are what cause syncopation, but syncopation is actually when a musical accent or change happens on an off beat instead of an "on" beat. When you have that feeling of something hitting at an unexpected time (but it's still within the musical rhythm, or subdivision of beats) then you're experiencing that syncopation! I know dancers often use similar counts to musicians when describing action to a rhythm, so every "AND" hit or "ee" and "uh" hahaha :D alll of that is syncopation - but it's not just the subdivision itself, but when there's action on one of those subdivided rhythms that provides an accent or noticeable change then you're hitting a syncopated accent and it's wonderful. I LOVE a good off beat.

YES TO THIS! Thank you so much for your feedback here! I have been studying Music Cognition for a couple years now but there is STILL SO MUCH to unpack! Your feedback is spot on and I love the fact you took the time to share! I will also do my best to try to grow in the differences between music and dance terminology of shared words because I know there are a couple of overlapping vocabulary that does mean different things whether you are a dancer or a musician! Goodness I love that you participated discussion wise because you helped me learn something new!!

Dude yess, people don't dance with eachother as much as before, I've heard many people say this, it's very different now. I'm mexican so in my culture we all dance together😂, but if ur not surrounded with that u won't know or learn(dances like Zapateado, Huapango, poka norteño, corridos juntos, etc). Also I hate when people talk down on the dancers, so many that know nothing about dancing criticize them for not being 100% the same as Taemin(which makes no sense cuz as u said they aren't supposed to be exactly the same, i cant believe at one point i had the same mindset), it's sad cuz the dancers are doing a great job.

IT happens! Sometimes people have the expectation that when dancers are involved, that they are supposed to match the performers EXACTLY, and in a lot of cases that is the correct viewpoint. But when you look at Koharu and Taemin dance together, you see the differences which truly shows the beauty of the movements and how the point of the choreo is to showcase a new wheelhouse of choreo that isn't represented as much in the industry..

34:15 here you have two interviews that came to mind immediately. In this show he talks about all his identity signs and why he does them. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bc5-dpuA3MnQmas.htmlsi=cyv_nFuJ180QfLkS I recommend all the interview but from min 35:35 until 39:00 he talks about learning choreography. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/edBzp7NisK3IoHU.htmlsi=L341k7YO5M5G_sJI He has talked other times about boogaloo as well. And there are two videos of him teaching criminal choreo to mark and idea choreo to haechan. I personally wouldn’t call him a visual learner. He throughly studies dance and movement. The one that for sure is a visual learner in SHINee is Key. He is the fastest at learning choreo, can dance to kpop trends after watching them just one time, it’s incredible.

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide further insight to the questions I posed! I saved the links to be able to look back at them in the near future to better refine my thoughts! And I think you can develop being a visual learner even if it isn't a "natural" thing at first. Out of all the members, like you said Key is one who showcases a visual learning capability, and within Taemin's scope as a performer, there are certain styles he is able to showcase by visually watching and mimicking, but that doesn't discredit his thoroughness to understand at all! I always love hearing that artists who are proficient within a style really want to steward it well! If you don't mind me asking, how would you categorize Taemin if not a visual learner.. More auditory or kinesthetic? I haven't watched enough of his behind the scenes as he learns choreo, so I can't 100% verify this.

on the mention of taemin not using his hips, I wish more male idols weren’t afraid to move their hips especially when covering girl group choreography. I don’t know if it’s a style thing vs their worry and uncomfortableness with moving femininely but it’s grinds my gears all the same.
@jess_holyfield

I feel it's a mix of what their body is used to doing (if you look at the comparison of guy group choreo and girl group choreo, they use their hips differently in context compared to ladies) and a mix of potential shyness haha! I hope to see more versatility in the future!

Hi! I came from facts in fiction, and already love your vibe and excited to check out more vids!! So i went to your channel and found some difficulty - please dont mind this, if you find my words unhelpfull!!- titles on your thumbnails are very hard to read, and it instantly was difficult to discern which video is about what, i know i would have appreciated a bolder font or more contrast on them Now back to watching ahahaa 💖💖💖

Hey there! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch! If you don’t mind me asking, can you attach a link to videos that have ideal thumbnails that you appreciate and feel more clarity from? I am always one who wants to have more clear intention with thumbnails, but not the fake appearance of a reaction on the thumbnail for a title if that makes sense! I appreciate your feedback and I am always willing to try to adjust these little things to make the viewing experience better!

@@jess_holyfield I went for a thumbnail hunt!! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/qMCZnraSvKrcZ3U.htmlsi=b6R5MB-BaIzTaG8a not a reaction channel at all, but i like the use of contrast, and how easy i can see the title and subject matter here! Older thumbnails from Jordan Orme kinda follow similar trope, i feel and dont emphasyze the reaction so i let it slide even if its present kzfaq.info/get/bejne/aJ1nmreYnb3Xe30.htmlsi=FdYXMFJM1xIIJ_Jk kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oqmSbLKU1rSyfGQ.htmlsi=V_lAUD_ZRlAf5ScJ there is a bolder font here, so when i scroll the channel on the phone, it is still clearly readable, even though the background is interfering with the title Hope some of it will be helpful! I saw someone comment once that Taemin a king at saving/conserving his energy. And I started to notice, in dance practices, he looks good and you can see the moves well- but the energy is COMPLETELY different compared to live stages,MVs, and Performance videos. That although the dance practice videos are still amazing, he's never quite as "Full Out" as he is for live stages/MVs/performances. And he wasn't always like this, for example in the Lucifer dance practice- he's at full energy, compared to the Idea dance practice where he's much more toned down. I wonder why he does this!

He once said that he would like to dance more powerfully but it would not allow him to sing. I don't know how much singing affects his dancing. I'd also like to know why because I'm not a fan of his energy lately. Even I find it more enjoyable to watch Key dance because of his energy and swag , key also sings although technically taemin is better in that area but I don't know why he became like that. Let's wait for OP reply

@@blancasmith-us9is I think he still dances very powerfully in the live stages, MVs, and performance videos- he just seems to conserve his energy in the dance practice videos a lot. I also think his energy is still rrly hypnotizing, and although it was more subdued in Guilty- I still felt like, as always, Taemin’s stage presence completely captures my attention and pulls me in. But I also love Key as a dancer! He’s always been very very good and versatile, and I think he’s really underrated.
