Pre-Release Single #2 [PLAY]
‘PLAY’ continues the voice of the deep night expressed by the previous single ‘Stay Tonight’, it contains the story of more beautiful hot afternoon than the night which blurred the boundary between day and night. After a secret and private moment, the lyrics were filled with bold and striking words like the angle of the midsummer sun.
Starting with Remedy, CHANGMO's rap which presented a new narrative combining the title of CHUNG HA's singles, was perfectly harmonized to complete a picture as if drawing a pupil.
This song is a Latin pop with various elements of reggaeton arranged in each section. The guitar sound at the verse is scattered off the beat with an iconic reggae rhythm, warms the space with an acoustic guitar sound and a synthesizer sound that unfolds instantly from the pre-chorus, then a brass section and dembow rhythm with the climax chorus light a heart to everyone with a feast of rhythm.
‘PLAY’는 이전 싱글 ‘Stay Tonight’이 표현했던 깊은 밤의 목소리에 이어, 낮과 밤의 경계가 흐릿해져 밤보다 더 아름답고 뜨거운 오후의 이야기를 담고 있다. 은밀하고 비밀스러웠던 순간을 지나 한여름 태양의 고도처럼 강렬하고 과감한 단어들로 가사를 채웠다.
Remedy로 시작해 청하의 대표 곡의 제목을 이어 새로운 내러티브를 선사한 창모의 랩은 마지막으로 눈동자를 그리듯 완벽하게 어우러져 하나의 그림을 완성하였다.
이번 곡은 레게톤의 다양한 요소를 섹션마다 배치한 라틴 팝이다. 오프 비트에 뿌려지는 기타 사운드로 레게 특유의 리듬으로 벌스를 환기하고, 프리 코러스부터 고조되는 순간 펼쳐지는 어쿠스틱 기타 사운드와 신디사이저 사운드로 공간을 데워, 절정으로 치닫는 코러스부터 시작되는 브라스 섹션, 뎀보우 리듬의 향연으로 모두에 마음에 뜨거운 불을 붙인다.

Look how tired everybody is in the back at 10:14 and this is because these b-boys, the solo male, and her main team have intense individual sections with Chunga. But Chungha... man she doesn't get a break. She dances with each section of dancers and through each transition, not having a moment to catch her breath until the end. Much respect.

안무 연습 비하인드 영상은 청하랑 댄서분들, 선생님과의 케미도 보고, 완성본이랑 조금 다른 이전 안무 보는 재미도 있고, 깔리는 음악도 보정이 100퍼 다 들어간 느낌이 아니라 청하 목소리가 더 잘 들려서 듣는 재미도 있는 것 같아요. 정말 좋은 컨텐츠인 듯!

청하 안무들이 너무 멋있어서 이것저것 찾아보다가 우연히 리안님 유튜브 채널 영상들(안무시안,뮤비촬영 브이로그등)이랑 다른댄서분들 영상도 많이 봤는데 진짜 대단한분들 이란걸 알게되었고,그만큼 청하도 얼마나 대단한 아티스트인지 알게되면서 이미 반했지만 다시한번 정말 멋지다고 생각했음...

I just started watching videos of her and I'm already feeling I will stan her. It's not just her, her whole team and dancers seem like the most healthy environment I've seen in kpop in all honesty. Their dancers seem like their 'own person', not just like heartless talent robots, they make mistakes, they make jokes, they have fun and it shows, they treat Chungha as one of them and not The Idol™, and what's most important, the company even edits their jokes and interactions, that shows they're just as important as everyone else. They also seem so diverse and careless, I see thicker women and men being feminine. I love this environment and can see why she's such a great artist: she feels free and safe, and can express all her potential freely. What a queen and what a team she has.
