You don't need to apologize, your reaction was perfect! The music industry said you can't do an a cappella version of an instrumental music piece. PTX said WATCH THIS!!

I didn't know the music industry said that. I suspect that eating their words turned into an unpleasant repast.

Hey Lex! The very idea of an a cappella cover of an instrumental classic confounded me until I saw this. Only PTX could conceive the idea, let alone pull off the execution so impressively. Thanks for posting.

I love this song... as a PTX fan once said, it is a song without words sung by a group with no instruments. I love how Pentatonix are willing to take any music apart and re-think it. I also hope you are not offended by their irreverent treatment of your iconic composer, Tchaikovsky. They have made him fun, and introduced his genius to many that may never have heard him otherwise. Great reaction, as always.

After reading the comments I know that one of the reasons it hit your funny bone was because there were no words. Secondly, they have a great sense of humor and without losing a drop of their artistry, they can be intentionally comedic.

The amazing part of this is that it is an instrumental piece, with no words. So, they just sang the parts of the instruments! But keep in mind. They had to sing their part individually in a studio. Then they had to 'sing' (really pretend to sing) it again in a darkened studio for the video. Then hundreds of hours were required to edit the entire thing together.

Great reaction! I very much enjoyed your delight at this masterpiece. PTX said this was one of their fastest music video shoots. Avi said it took less than 30 minutes for his part to be done. I would never have guessed that. They did another Tchaikovsky song from the Nutcracker, Waltz of the Flowers, for their 2018 Christmas album. There's no music video, only the audio, if you want to check out another song without words mastered by PTX. 😁

Hey bro I have another suggestion for you… So you’re videos are already kinda short, which is fine. But when you said at the end of this video, that you’re going to watch it again, I really wanted to see your second reaction too! I’ve also seen other reactors, react twice. This guy Barry watches it first without commenting or pausing (reaction) and then watches again pausing and commenting on the video (review). But whatever you decide to do, I recommend watching it twice in a row right on camera for us! It would make the videos longer and give you more time to process the music and give us a reaction! Peace my Russian brother 🇷🇺✌️

It DOES sound a bit funny for a Russian person, since we listen to this mesterpiece a lot. Music from 'Nutcracker' is hella famous here, so I totally get the laughter being Russian myself. It's just we are so used to the classic version, that smth out of the box is just unexpected. Having said that, I just LOOOOOVE this version! Well deserved Grammy and an unbelievable job done by PTX. They are crazy talents, each of them individually and as a group together. Спасибо за реакцию, подписалась на канал! Did anyone tell you yet that Avi Kaplan studied to be an opera singer? You can hear Avi by himself but the style is very different either jazz or a variety of choral or folk, country what is called Americana or Roots music. He writes his own music. His most famous one is "Change On the Rise" which has also been used in a TV program Resident Alien and as theme music for the Apple Podcast Relative Unknown. Like Pentatonix each song can be a very different style but it is with instruments now. Or another group like Pentatonix Homefree did a cover of Johnny Cash's Ring of Fire and brought Avi in to feature as the 2nd bass singer. 2 of them both very low 🙂 People like that and there are people who are fans of both Homefree and Pentatonix. The title is "Homefree Ring of Fire ft Avi Kaplan" if you want to hear it.
