They nailed everything that NMIXX & JPY did wrong, they gave them very good catchy songs and let the guality do the talk. Rather than an overlyexperimental concept they look and sound natural.

They literally have saved the world of K-pop for me 😭 the sound is so new and refreshing and based on Korean comments people feel the same way. I hope they grow really big

Danielle and Haerin’s MV is discovering the boy they like has been playing them both, so they pull a prank on him as revenge and choose their friendship instead of getting mad at each other over a boy ☺️

"They chose a good song to play 4 times" I know right. They had the confidence and a solid song to back it up!

i dont know if I can properly describe how HOT this group is in Korea right now. When new groups from big companies debut people always say it's a huge impact but this actually IS a HUGE impact. They're EVERYWHERE and their impact is a little insane. When you watch the dance practices you'll notice they wear biker shorts instead of boy shorts under their skirts/short shorts.....now it's a trend among young girls in korea. When BP dropped their song they did take #1 in the charts BUT in 2-3 of the 4 charts New Jeans took it right back the next day with a song that was 4 weeks old. THAT doesn't happen.....especially with a rookie group. Everything about them is different.....their styling, their vibe, their music, their makeup, their choreo, dropping 7 videos all at once....they are almost UNAPOLOGETICALLY young and relaxed. But really what's most important (as boring as it sounds) is they are SELLING. I think a lot of international kpop fans mistake YT views for success when in reality the money these companies drop on these debuts is insane and they NEED to recoup it back for the group to keep going In re to the Cookie lyrics.....New Jeans stans will say its mistranslation/it's about making music bc Cookie in korean is a synonym for CD etc etc. (and it's true, im korean and can understand without subs and yes, lets just say there's cover in mistranslation) That being said.....HYBE/Ador is a multibillion dollar company, they knew what the reaction would be internationally. Did they do it for marketing? Who knows. There's also a whole thing about the CEO of Ador and her history with debuting YOUNG idols at SM Entertainment and her "inspirations" (she seems to like Lolita-type characters and storylines and movies). All that aside, this song isn't their main release and it doesn't even have a proper actual MV. Hopefully, it was a one time thing for such a young group. Everything else Ador is doing seems to indicate they are properly protecting these girls but we'll see.....

Crazy how they are the best girl group this year and they just debuted, and they are writing their music since the beginning 😱 It’s impressive honestly

These girls are super talented and they can go very far in this industry. Love their songs. My favorites are Hype Boy and Hurt. There's many versions of their dance practices (moving camera and fixed camera). Plus there's performance videos. I guess we'll see which ones you will choose to react to.

Ni-Ki from Enhypen danced HYBE boy with the girls and Sunoo did Attention. I love seeing the HYBE artists interactions! They even are recycling outfits between the groups which is neat. They all are so talented; great vocals, dancing, visuals, rapping! 🇺🇸🥰🔀💜👖💚💛

The message of Cookie is lost in translation, in Korean Cookie is slang for burning a new CD . I agree the English lyrics are ultra cringe 😬

I think if Cookie makes some adults feel weird, that means it's working. You got 4 songs, all memorable in completely different ways. PS: Just like The Little Mermaid is for kids, Cookie's lyrics are for real teens, if we all remember what we were like in our teens.

Lordy, Danielle and Haerin were not looking at each other romantically. They chose their friendship over the dumb boy who was trying to play them both. Good grief lol

@@peerlesscucumber9522 Yo, it's early and I am not in the mood for ignorance. Don't come here acting as if I have an issue if there was some romance between the girls. You know that's not the problem but you're trying to sound edgy or whatever the heck you're trying to do. Nothing would be wrong with it Captain Obvious, but that's not the plot we were giving considering there were no indications by the one who wrote the storyline or by the director to play it as though the girls dumped the boy and then decided to date romantically. If we were given that, it wouldn't have been an issue. Instead we are left to believe they're best friends who were a little bit at odds over a stupid boy and then made up. Good lord, thank you for reminding me to stop commenting on youtube and for why I dislike people.

Just try to remember things are different in Korea. Out there they look at cookie as a cute and playful song (lyrically wise) Don't get me wrong I thought the same thing at first until someone explained it to me. But they don't mean the lyrics in a sexual way at all

"soft and gentle: they offer the cookie, let him eat it, and watch him out of his vision. They love to see his face; they love to see his heart melting away, falling for them. And when that happens, he won’t desire anything else: no dinner or water, the boy will only be hungry for them. Or better, for their cookie. That’s what the chorus means."

Still bout love and trying to attract a guy romantically. But not sexually. Just english translation makes it seem more sexual then romantical

I understand how the intimacy of Danielle and Haerin could be interpretted as love but its pretty much only about a friendship thing, I think you should be careful on putting queer references on them lol

Dancers, really need to start reacting to their dance practice videos more than the MV where you only get to see 20% of the entire choreo. I would have loved to see you actually break down your opinions on the choreo and we all know only the dance practice or live stage videos do justice:/ (all of their dance practice videos are on youtube and just a search away( Maybe watch content that shows off their dance too the next time?

I get triggered whenever the asian culture gets twisted by western listeners. In the song 'Cookie', bake in Korean is 'ppang gubgi'. Burning CD in Korean is 'gubgi CD'. Both use similar sound of 'cookie'. That's why a cookie roll in at the beginning & a CD roll out at the end. Cookie in asian culture simply means baked dough. It is no fault of Koreans that it carries sexual undertone in the western culture. Just like Korean 'nae-ga' means I. It is no fault of Koreans that it sounds like the 'N' word used in the western culture as slur against black people. The world is a better place when people stop looking through coloured lens.

“They let her score” kinda rude just cause shes girl?
@chloemiranda7663
@chloemiranda7663 Жыл бұрын
I personally don't think that what he said was rude because they literally did let her score as they were in the middle of a game and she suddenly stumbled upon them. In a cute sense they made her score and applauded her as she proudly sashays away. But I can see why the comment may come across as rude tho.

It's not rude, it's just common sense. You see a (presumably) newbie with a soccer team hyping her up after scoring. In what situation would the newbie ever be able to score normally if the players were actually trying?
